For the wood alcohol bit: the antidote for methanol is ethanol (ie. regular god ol' booze). Your body will metabolize the ethanol before the methanol so if you drink enough "normal" alcohol you'll just pee the methanol out. My guess is that he drank a lot outside of this speakeasy, emphasis on "a lot". For the rest of his unlikely survivals, I have no idea.

Slight but terrible misconception. It’s by no means a cure. In the right circumstances it can help slow the effects, not negate them entirely. It’s still a minor miracle Malloy didn’t die from this. The alcohol gives you a better chance of reaching aid before permanent damage is done. It is absolutely not a replacement for medical intervention.

The cure for methonal posioning is ethonal. So Malloy prbably drank some more when he went home and that's moat likely how he survived the ethonal. How he survived the rest i have no idea

So they basically fed him drinks with regular alcohol, then regular alcohol mixed with methanol, then straight up methanol, then a mixture of methanol and antifreeze, and I think at one time they just fed him rat poison. They fed him rotten oysters doused with methanol. And they fed him a rotten sardine sandwich with carpet tacks, rat poison, and little bits of glasses. HOW THE FUCK DID HE SURVIVED? And before they killed him with the gas line, they tried another attempt of rat poisonning him. Nada.

You think that's bad. I, an American, ended up in a Sydney pub during a major cricket match back in the day with a friend or two. There were a large group of Brits there, mostly Liverpudlians, and a couple of Irish lads. So, Aussies, a couple of Americans, a few Irish, and a group of Brits. It was one of the best barfights I have ever seen or participated in.

For everybody saying alcohol can cure ethanol poisoning, it doesn’t. Alcohol fills the same receptors the ethanol would destroy, preventing the poison from taking full effect all at once. It’s still a miracle Malloy survived. If you end up accidentally drinking ethanol (or antifreeze) you can take a shot to *hopefully* stall the effects, before immediately getting to the hospital as quickly as possible.

I still don't understand why people put a 3 second spoiler clip at the start of a video. Do they expect the viewer to get bored if 3 seconds don't pass without content? There is a very good chance anyone going to watch your video has seen the original. We just came here to see someone elses first time reaction. If it isn't your first time seeing it, people will find it much less interesting. Maybe a way to stand out is put a 3 second opening image and song? dunno. but the spoiler seems weird.
