I grew up with this man. He was one of my Dads good friends and he did all of our paint and body work . We had a 63 corvette split window coupe that he restored for us over about a 3 year period. He built a bad ass 57 Chevy with a 396 sleeper car. I new all about him collecting Vettes . I think at one time he was buying one every year and putting it up. He was a good guy even though he tried to act bad . I never will forget him being by my side and having my back when my dad died. Don’t let his Dream and collection die. RIP Earl!!!

I just sent this article and video to one of my oldest dearest childhood friend. He too has had many cars over the years - I told him this is like a real life story of the band RUSH song "Red Barchetta" about a classic car hidden away in a barn! How exciting! Please show us more!

Awesome. I worked for the cable company when I was a young man (87-88) and I had a service call to a house in the middle of town (about 50 miles away from Warrior Al.) When I arrived we went into his dilapidated garage where he wanted an extra outlet. He wanted to be able to watch Alabama Football while he restored some old cars and equipment. When I asked him about the cars he was restoring, he said it was only one car and led me around the corner to see it. This car was a early wooden rimmed Rolls Royce that was built for Queen Elizabeth 1st It was a limousine style complete w a brass plaque in the passenger compartment that stated when/ where and for whom it was built. I was in awe! The old man asked me not to tell anyone and I didn't until many years after his passing. I don't know what ever happened to the vehicle after that day but I will never forget about it.

I met Earl when had the shop downtown. He repaired a few fender benders I had when I was young and dumb. The guy was a REAL CHARACTER! He was about 5'4, and just completely full of piss and vinegar! If you ever met him you'd never forget him!

Earl was my dad, I miss him very much. But I did not receive as much as a lug nut, because my brother was executor of the will that was changed just prior to my dad's passing. And 99% of everything was designated to himself and his son. I also love my brother very much, but greed has a way of turning the best of people into evil
