And talking about buying a new carburetor for that Mustang no, that's original dude you rebuild it the clogged injectors on the firebird, "will put some new ones in". No, you clean the original equipment and you put it back on the car. These are super low mileage cars that are all original. You keep them original if possible. And if it's good enough, you leave it as a survivor. I don't think you rebuild everything, you leave it as it is. And a lot of these cars look like fantastic survivors. I understand they've been sitting a while. And some stuff will need to be replaced. I'm just saying if you can rebuild that part, you need to rebuild that part to keep the original part on the car.

Yes, was the internal ford Code name, much like "fox" or SN95, etc. I put a Supercharged 04 cobra engine in a notchback in 2004. Was much harder then because nobody had done it, and no harnesses or anything existed. Then I put a 3.4L Whipple on it. Went 8.90's, would go 9.0's all day long, and eat crotch rockets for breakfast on the street, even roll racing. They'd start to pull away due to gearing and aerodynamics over 150+ mph though.... To preserve the car for long term, you would have to treat it like the the aircraft people do. Of course this only applies to engines on aircraft. Remove all the the fuel, plumb in a separate preservation oil type fluid, crank the engine to coat all surfaces with preservative, drain all the oils and fluids, wrap everything in plastic with enough silica gel packets to absorb any humidity, and finally, have humidity monitors in the sealed area. Then monitor at least once a month in a dry environment of more if the humidity is higher. If the humidity indicators go up, replace the silica gel packs with new ones. Somewhere, there's a place that has cars wrapped in bubbles to preserve them.
