Merci Sylvain 😉👍 On a bien aimé visiter la ville en auto , mais j’aurais aussi aimé visiter l’intérieur des vieilles bâtisses . Oui les ponts sont très similaires. Great to see the beautiful historic downtown of Winona. The drive to the town and the tour of the old town with the huge red brick buildings, churches, the bridge over Mississippi River, are truly amazing. The 19th century and the early 20th century buildings appeal to us for their towering architectural style. Thanks for the driving tour and hope the Toppers' Pizza topped your trip well. One of the first things we saw at the campground was the Airstream. Even though we have one, we still love seeing them. What? Can't believe she didn't find anything at JoAnns. 😂. Winona is such a cute town in certain areas. We love traveling through areas that the Mississippi River touches cause we've lived so close to it and been so many places that the river has always been its lifeblood. But we've mostly been to areas in the south that it touches. Be safe, Bill and DeAnna

An Air Stream is sure very nice 🥰 whatever the year is was made …they are high quality campers. 🤣🤣🤣Hélène was looking for some special stickers of Cardinals birds for the making of her greetings cards and didn’t find nothing …but she sure found a lot of things in the States during our trip …she had a lot to declare at the customs…Lol!🤪🤣 We did love Winona and specially the buildings.The Mississippi River was so nice to see …it was a dream to see it and also go for a cruise on it …when I was young I saw so many movies about it . Beautiful drive along the Mississippi! What a charming town! I really enjoy setting the architectural style with all of the arched windows. Yes it’s a nice little city and would’ve love to see the inside of some of those buildings. Nous étions là en octobre 2018 et donc hors saison et de plus dans la semaine alors pas beaucoup de monde dans les rues . I moved away just about 20 years ago and its very sad to see how many more historic buildings theyve demolished for parking lots or the University. In the beginning of the video the first rainroad tracks you almost had video of the house i lived in for a few years. Lots of beautiful houses there, you missed a few beauties and were so close to filming the Watkins building.

@@alisong7120 Hi ! We were camping at the Goose island Campground and asked what was nice to see around there and we were told to go in Winona and look at the beautiful houses and buildings. For sure we must’ve missed a few since we didn’t know the city and didn’t ask for more information once in the city …we just went around and had lunch there and then went back at our campground. Nice scenic road trip on the way to Winona with the crossing of the Mississipi river😍. Winona looked like a gorgeous time period town with beautiful houses, buildings and many churches😮. Now I have time again to enjoy your excellent, very well edited and presented travel video over a cup of coffee. What surprises me is that only lawns can be seen in front of the residential buildings, no flowers or interesting plants, everything looks the same (except for the front yard at 14:08 - 14:16 min). Interesting old buildings. The traffic lights behind the intersection instead of in front of the intersection are very unfamiliar to me.

Winona is about 2 hours south of where I live. It is a very nice college town with some great architecture. There is a really nice overlook on one of the bluffs that overlooks the entire city called Garvin Heights City Park. 😊👍

Cool , didn’t know I was close to you there . It’s a lovely historical little city , we did love seeing it . At 2:36 we see the bluffs where’s the overlook of Garvin Heights City Park that you mentioned, went on Google earth and saw the view of the city from there …it’s really a nice view …to bad we didn’t know about it we would’ve went for sure . Good evening Steve We did love to see this historical city with the nice buildings which was suggested by Priscilla who we wet along the Mississippi River the day before . It wasn’t on my list of city to see but since she told us it was beautiful and she lives in the area we concluded that it must of been nice to see . I did love the shot at the end where you see the plane over the bridge with the music in background. The managing director was disappointed a bit because she was expecting to find scrapbooking items for the greetings cards she does in Canada as a hobby . I generally like most places that I visit. While Winona looks to have some interesting buildings in the historic district they did not really convey a sense of place to me. I saw on one of the information boards that at one point whole blocks of the old downtown were razed. That was a shame as there look to be gaps in the townscape that make it less attractive. Usually we like to explore historic main Streets but sadly Winona looks to have stagnated somewhat. I just had a look at census figures and it seems the population has changed very little for the past 70 years. Perhaps Winona has been left behind a little like some industrial towns in the north of England. These places are still interesting to see. What buildings that have survived do have some interesting architectural features and perhaps on a warm sunny day I would see a different place. I did enjoy the drive there and those bridges on the way back to La Crosse. Thanks once more for an interesting tour. Hope you are both fine and are keeping warm. If we had your weather here there would be a national emergency declared.

Thanks Ivor & Robert You are right they didn’t save the architecture everywhere sadly but what’s left is well maintained, I don’t know how badly the buildings were when they decided to demolished them . Maybe a lack of money was the reason ??? Or maybe they weren’t well maintained ?? Like you said probably on a nice sunny day having a walk and maybe entering into some of those old buildings it would be great . We do have a lot of snow this winter up to now , I just did a day skiing yesterday at St-Sauveur ski center and the condition are superb ⛷️🤪 when walking in the streets here in Boisbriand we have snowbanks taller than me 🤪 I do have trouble finding places to blow the snow with my snowblower 🤣 But we are used to these conditions here …for sure you would go crazy 🤪in England . Today we have cold temperatures -15 Celsius and with the wind it goes to -20 Celsius 🥶 but this won’t keep on …we should get warmer weather soon . Bon matin Nic et Mic 👩‍❤️‍👨 Cette ville nous avait été suggéré par Priscilla que nous avions rencontré au bord du Mississippi. La seule dépense qu’Hélène a fait c’est la pizza 🍕…Lol! La boutique de bricolage n’avait rien d’interessant et pas de spécial 🤑. Les jeunes universitaires fêtaient je ne sait quoi …🧐 mais je trouvais que d’avoir capturer ce moment valait la peine d’être inclus , l’université est juste en face et cette maison est sûrement une maison de chambres des étudiants. Merci pour ton appréciation de mon choix de musique 😉👍 Hier j’étais en ski …qu’elle belle journée de ski les conditions sont superbes actuellement car nous avons beaucoup de neige cette année. The sad part of downtown Winona is that during the '70s and '80s the idiot city fathers tore down the really old classic Victorian city buildings and put in parking lots and ugly cracker box crap.
