Historic Las Palmas on Gran Canaria - City Walking Tour & Best Museums | Columbus's First Stop Ever

Explore the Historic Capital City of the Canary Islands--Las Palmas on Gran Canaria, with Toby Nomad, as he traces the footsteps of Christopher Columbus. This is the VERY FIRST STOP on Columbus's First Voyage of Discovery. He had broken a rudder and the crew was about to mutiny. He needed water and supplies, and he had only made it just off the coast of Africa. We will visit the Canary Museum (Museo Canario), the House of Columbus (Casa de Colon), the great Cathedral of Las Palmas and explore the neighborhoods and buildings where Columbus himself would have walked and explored over 500 years ago!!
This place changed the world, because it changed Columbus, and the Canary Islands would set the template for the colonization of the New World. If you like history, even if you just like great stories, and if you like to understand WHY the world is the way that it is, then this channel is for you.
