This is the little-known monastery of La Rabida on the southern edge of Spain where Christopher Columbus stayed, prayed, and networking during a crucial time in his life, just prior to his first voyage of Discovery. It was here that he was welcomed, nourished, and given contacts that would gain him an audience with Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand, the reigning monarchs of the newly reunified Spain. Columbus came here with his child and it became his starting point, also known as "The Bethlehem of the America". Columbus also returned here after securing funding for his voyage and it was from the surrounding town that he gathered sailors, workers, water, supplies and from which he set sail. Join me INSIDE the Monastery that changed Columbus, and changed the history of the world forever!
