Historic Medieval and Georgian

It's been a few years coming, but finally I've got another excellent Regency coin for my collection, and you'll never guess what I found right at the end of the day. Clue: it's metal, and medieval.
So let's go mudlarking once more, down on the River Thames foreshore, and experience London on a liminal level - a time between times, at the bottom of the Thames.

Part of the tour of the Gonzalez-Byass sherry bodega is the opportunity to see the wino mice - - they live under the sherry butts, and the tour guide will pour out a glass of sherry, place it on the ground, and prop a tiny ladder against the glass. The mice run out from under the butts, climb the ladder and dip their snouts into the glass to drink the sherry. A Google image search will show many images of them.

I think the charm of finding tobacco inside the pipe brings you that much closer to the previous owner, therefore closer to history. It's like I always say...tide travelling!
