Nice video, very informative... Lewes began as a Saxon village. The Saxons invaded East Sussex in the 5th century. Lewes was probably founded in the 6th century. (The name Lewes is probably derived from a Saxon word, ‘hluews’ which meant slopes or hills).

The Grange gardens are much more impressive in late May or early June. Shame you ate in a national chain eaterie rather than one of the local small ones.

Thank you for watching ❤️ The Grange is wonderful in Spring/Summer definitely. I wouldn’t say Trading post is a national chain. They are in Brighton and Lewes (at the time we visited), but have recently opened in Chichester. Some more locally run ones are definitely worth a visit though I agree
