Pachinko is on my tbr, I may need to move it up based on how much you liked it. I was considering adding the audiobook as well.

Yes ma’am definitely the audiobook! This book is quite long and I remember enjoying the audio version

I added Homegoing to my list. Some of my favorites are By Her Own Design by Piper Huguley, The First Ladies by Marie Benedict & Victoria Christopher Murray, Wild Women and the Blues, In the Face of the Sun by Denny S. Bryce. I’ve just started her most recent release with Eliza Knight titled Can We Be Friends and she also has a new one coming out this summer titled The Trial of Mrs. Rhinelander. (NetGalley ARC). I love historical fiction because most times it takes me further down that rabbit hole and I want to learn more.

Thanks for sharing this! I read and LOVED Pachinko! Definitely one of my favorites. I read Transient Kingdom but didn’t love it. And I had no idea Tracy Brown passed away!! 😢 I have the book of hers you mentioned on my TBR.

Yes, she had agreed to do an in-person interview with me like a month before she passed. I was completely in shock. She will forever be missed in the book community. See this is why I hesitate to pick up Transcendent Kingdom smh. Pachinko was just 👌🏾

I started listening to Pachinko a year ago, but never finished it. I might have to pick it up again. Homegoing is my favorite and only 5 star rated book. Nothing has come close to it in my reading journey. Even when the book of Negroes came out...I agree with you 100%! Hold you down was on my TBR twice already, but unfortunately, I have not gotten to it yet!🤭 stay with me!! eeeeeeek! that book is living free in my brain! that one and a spell of good things...lool everything you described was exactly how I felt!😂

Okay so we’re on the same page! I really need to get back to a spell of good things. I keep starting and stopping at the exact same spot 🤦🏾♀️ I don’t think anyone can hold a candle to Homegoing. It deserved allll the awards.

Did you not absolutely hate the husband in Stay With Me? He let her lose her entire mind due to pride. When I think about that man, he is the only book character I ABHOR!
