Thank you! And ugh, yes. I personally love that lolita fashion takes Rococo elements and places them on Victorian silhouettes 😭💖

Suuuper interesting video! I'm not knowledgeable at all about historical fashion and this was very digestible and explanatory of the inspirations of lolita fashion. Your cat and coord are adorable

TLDR: me rambling about historical fashion and lolita fashion. I'm into historical fashion, vintage fashion and lolita fashion. I went to fashion school and I was ready to be skeptical about this video but you did great. 👌👌👌 It also made me think about how much less popular lolita fashion would probably be if it required corsetry and padding to create a certain silhouette, as it is with historical fashion. I think one of the appeals of the fashion is that it has many elements we appreciate from historical fashion but it's still accessible and reasonably practical to wear. The only required item for the specific shape is the petticoat, and lolita fashion works with the silhouette of the modern bra because that's what it was designed with in mind. Some people try to stealth a corset under lolita clothes and it can look "off", just like an early edwardian outfit would look off without a corset and without padding. This made me realize lolita fashion really is the best of all fashion worlds imo, all of the frills and femininity and the least hassle. Although I'm taking a hint from the early edwardians and converting my bloomers and petticoats with elastic waist bands to sit on a yoke lower than the waist, to avoid bulk at the waist. I know why the bloomers and petticoats are made with elastic waists, but it's not really all that comfortable or all that flattering to have multiple layers like that on top of each other at the waist. I saw a video demonstrating different kinds of edwardian undergarments, and the lady made her petticoat and drawers/bloomers bigger at the waistband than her actual corseted waist measurement, and she put them on curved waistbands or a yoke, so they would sit below the waist but be fairly stable and not slide down. This meant that at waist level she would only have the chemise, corset and overskirt. And her petticoat and drawers didn't add to the extra bulk because they were lower than waist level. So I thought "hah, that's pretty clever".
