I recently fell in love with Lisa Kleypas! I started with the Wallflowers series and I loved how she wrote friendships throughout. I loved the four girls’ friendship with each other and the first two heroes look out for each other. Obviously I loved the romance too but it was so refreshing to read a historical that spent time building up friendships in addition to the romance.

I also came across Lisa kleypas through the Wallflower series and I got hooked, so far I own 25 of her books and cannot count how many I have read based on my borrowing history.

Awesome video! Another great author for high-heat historical romances in Grace Callaway. Her books have great mystery plots and relationship development, and the love scenes are FABULOUS. ;) A few other self-pubbed authors with great steamy and swoony historicals are Nicola Davidson, Scarlett Scott, and Mara Shaw (I think her only book is The Scoundrel's Score but it was H O T!).

I just love your reviews! They are so accurate! I generally prefer books with a lot of sexual tension rather than serveral pointless steamy scenes. I want to read historical romances to enjoy the characters and the story and not only because of the high level of steaminess. So I love Julia Quinn, Lisa Kleypas, Sarah Maclean, Sophie Jordan. I loved Tessa Dare's early novels but now I'm nit into her so much, her latest books have disappointed me.

Thanks for the recs and especially for thinking about everyone's preferences (I can read 'high tier' but prefer 'lower')❤🥰 Rec: Friends & Foes by Sarah M. Eden. It was the first for me from her but it was soo funny and unexpected. This is the first time I read a 'clean' book (only kissing) but with the same levels of chemistry and tension as other steamier books, that you don't actually notice??? But definitely try it out... Its got lots of siblings, hilarious characters, some heart-rending moments..👌

I really like this video but I just have to point out that Sir Horace in The Grand Sophy wants his daughter married because he is about to be married himself. His future wife doesn't want to be blamed or be responsible for someone like Sophy. She's great, but also to note is that there are a couple racist/prejudice comments about her as she's from Spain and for another character too. Good to know, still a wonderful read. Sir Horace is super selfish to be sure but he never feels bad about it.

I mean that's fair. I say any time I talk about JQ that I started reading her when I was 15. So... that fits your theory. I've been reading her for over half my life and I am nostalgic for her books. This can also make her a good HR author for beginners. Doesn't make her bad. Everyone has to start somewhere. Also, in my opinion, she has books way better than Bridgerton. AND, she never wrote a book until college. Her first book was Splendid which was before Bridgerton so.. not sure where you heard HS.
