My fave part is Eloise being all "I dO nOt ShArE mY fOoD" with Benedict, and then Anthony comes and pulls Eldest of Brothers rank and she just hands him a piece of candy. As an oldest sister, I love to do that exact thing just to annoy the middle siblings.
@preciousaburime38393 жыл бұрын
As a younger sibling who was bullied out of her food, you really shouldn't do that. It breeds resentment, especially when it's done always. Not fair.
@analorena68323 жыл бұрын
@@preciousaburime3839 Oh, I am so sorry that your siblings did that to you. It is definitely not fair to bully others out of food ever. Resentment aside, it's just rude and it's terrible that it happened to you. What my comment was actually about is the dynamic where younger siblings have older siblings that they don't listen to (usually the middle ones), and older siblings that they always listen to (usually the oldest). At least that's how it works in my family, and it's very funny because the exact same request coming from different siblings is met with vastly different responses.
@AntheaMac843 жыл бұрын

FYI, skyed refers to a placement of paintings in a gallery. Today, we only place paintings at eye level. But in the past in painting exhibition and in galleries, paintings were arranged from about waist high to the ceiling with successive rows of paintings. The best paintings were at eye level. The poorer the painting the higher it went. Thus the crap paintings were near the sky, hence the insult "skyed."

Interestingly, the painting is by the American Samuel Finley Breese Morse, the inverter of the telegraph. arthistorynewsreport.blogspot.com/2017/04/samuel-fb-morses-gallery-of-louvre-and.html?m=1 By the way, you will note that the Mona Lisa is in the center of the first row of paintings on the wall facing us. Unfortunately that’s just how it was back in those times. I agree it’s shitty but if you’re gonna write a show about a historical time period it should be accurate, and this one is.

Bridgerton Season 1: Anthony: Get away from my sister. I’m here to protect her from unworthy suitors because I’m protective and I love her. Bridgerton Season 2: Kate: Get away from my sister. I’m here to protect her from unworthy suitors because I’m protective and I love her. Bridgerton Season 3: Colin: Get away from my sister’s best-friend/My bestie Penelope. I’m here to protect her from unworthy suitors because I’m protective and… oh my god… I love her.

Some families marry rich, some families marry into power. The Bridgertons, fantastic dorky goobers that they are, married *smart* when they added Simon and Kate to the family. And considering how down to earth, calm and competent Violet (thier mother) seems to be, the peak Dumbass energy clearly came from Papa Bridgerton.

I still think it says a lot about their relationship that Daphne started to wear lilac dresses after the marriage as a compromise between her family colour blue and the dukes family color red while he continued to wear the same colors.

They adapted Benedict quite beautifully in the Nflix series. In the books, he’s not my favorite. So I’m really glad to see his character acted as such. Tbh, traits of Benedict in the series are traits that I admire about Colin in the books. Colin and his enthusiastic appetite and charm & kindness: he’s my 2nd fave Bridgerton (after Eloise). I hope we get to see to his (and Eloise’s) stories! And while we’re at it: Francesca was a ghost until her own book released. I hope we get a bit more of her in the background in Anthony’s series which I assume 👀 is the next season.

The one thing I really liked about it was the dynamic between Eloise and daphne and while they were different and didn’t understand each other at first, they came to an understanding of each other later and cared for each other. They both represent me in terms of while I am a feminist and want so much more for women and be independent and all of that, I also with to find love one day and marry and have kids. Like you can be a feminist and independent and still want that traditional life with a husband and kids aka YOU CAN HAVE BOTH. While I loved Eloise and related to her a lot, she kinda gave me “not like other girls energy” in that sense cause just because daphne actually wanted that traditional life, it doesn’t mean that she’s any less and vice versa. They both were women that didn’t let men dictate their future and wanted something for themselves and knew what they wanted which is why I appreciate both characters and again, loved their dynamic together 💗
