Nice repost. 👍 I literally just today watched the old one and then saw you posted this. Shame- I like Burn. He was a solid player, I’ve heard. But it’s good Pillsbury, Tarrasch, and Lasker started leading the way in the 1890s past the error-filled Romantic chess, and into a more accurate era, IMO.

Pillsbury-a woefully forgotten Master of Attack. He was Laskers equal. Burn was no patzer either. Is he not the one who developed the Burn variation in the French Defense? Thanks for showing these great old games.

Amos burn played like a chess petzer in this game. He haven't played upto his full caliber in this game
