Destro was essentially Dr. Doom in the Marvel G. I. Joe universe- he had a personal castle and army, maintained a code of honor, kept his word (once given), and is versed in robotics (see G. I. Joe #90).

Can you do Golobulus and Cobra La next? I would like to propose that Golobulus was actually a scientist working on genetic mutations for Cobra Commander. He was successful but went insane and created this whole Cobra La backstory after his lab was destroyed and when Golobulus woke up a sign above the lab said Cobra La instead of Cobra Laboratories. In his insane state he started his cult of Cobra La. I will explain more but this is my story of the GIJoe Movie and Cobra La.

in the original animated cartoon series, I'd swear on a stack of Bibles. They did an episode where he claimed the mass was a family curse. It was some sort of enchanted mask that was put on each male descendent. After the previous one died or something like that could not be removed until their death where it would be passed on to the next male descendent part of the storyline of the episode was he was messing with some sort of magic to relieve himself of the curse of the mask. You also didn't talk about 1960s DESTRO;).the human bullet, if I remember correctly, was the character who went on to become DESTRO.it's one of the more rare figures from the original 1960s G.I. Joe line

@@19zach75 one thing that always bugged me about the original G.I. Joe's series was all the backstabbing. Nobody could figure out who was in charge of who the Twins major blood the barness zartan and old chrome head Were always fighting over who was going to lead cobra. the faked article brought was a legitimate business empire was another little thing that always made me scratch my head.u had cobra Corp. and cobra, the terrorist organization as if the two were not connected . hell u even had a cobra, credit card;). the barness at one point lead. a all female cobra uprising and that was long before everybody complaining about movies that were all female characters;). ive never seen the drug task force stof yet.i remember seeing one episode where it took place right after the movie wear barness was locating cobra commander in the jungle, where he was a snake and she injected him with something that made him partially human and then killed a leopard and skild it so he wouldn't be running around naked. I'm surprised since G.I. Joe renegades they haven't done another cartoon. More recently. a mother thing that always had me wondering there were several plans by cobra that failed and they never try to repeat, said plan, where it probably would've worked if they tried again and just did a few things differently. To compensate for the mistakes.

Actually he was Red Jackal, a Russian member of Action Force who was crippled in combat. Baron Ironblood had him rebuilt and made him one of his lieutenants, driver of the Hyena vehicle. When Ironblood betrayed the Red Shadows to form Cobra, Red Jackal tracks him down to kill him but instead is recruited by the new Cobra Commander and renamed Destro.

I think I see a flaw in the logic. I know, but if you don't believe in treating the material with respect. Your not reading this comment. So they felt cobra commanders assassination could only be done if something was done about his bodyguard Stormshadow. So he hires someone to track Stormshadow down. To be a effective bodyguard. Don't you have to be around the body in question to guard it? So either they didn't even know where cobra commanders was. Which seems to bea far bigger hurdle than a bodyguard. Or Stormshadow is the greatest bodyguard of all time...or the absolute worst.

I was very disappointed the way Destro was depicted in the live action, Rise of....., you need someone imposing, and I'm not talking height but personality and of course charm, having the chance to do the right thing with the character this time, only to be sidelined in Retaliation, if there's something that's very evident in the comics and animated series is the rivalry between Cobra and Destro not to mention the attraction between the latter and the Baroness, something mutual, not fabricated by nanomites, the only thing gotten right was the opening escene with the ancestor of Destro being punished and put on the mask
