We had this with our wedding lol. We wanted to elope, we so nearly did! But lots of people wanted to attend, so we did the sensible thing, bought a lot of pizza and a chocolate fountain for our reception….I got hammered. Good times.

Sanja is right about gretna green being a place many people went to be wed but for a multitude of reasons. As it was being married by the blacksmith who was ordained but not the church you didnt need your parents permission there to be married so it was a place to run away and get married either to keep it secret full stop or to do so then reveal to the family
