I don't know if this is the place to ask this but is there any chance you guys will be doing a talk on the furniture stores of Sioux City?

Thanks for your interest and input. Your suggestion will be passed along to the appropriate staff. We may not have enough images for a 40-minute presentation. Were you interested in a focus on local-owned stores?

Does anyone remember a grocery store at (I believe) 20th & Myrtle St.? I lived briefly at an apartment building there in the 1980s, which supposedly was a grocery store in the past.

There was a little store between 6th & 7th on Court street in the early 50's called Gaynors Market or store. Everyone in the neighborhood charged their groceries there and before he closed he cancelled all the debts.

Thank you for recording this. Loved looking at the old stores. Missed a few in Morningside -Chets Market and Ehlers Grocery and there were a few Mom and Pop stores in Greenville.

You missed 2 that I remember in Greenville - Rustin and Correctionville road... it says M. Albert 1930 on the building but I remember it being open in the 1970's - they were located where Quality Appliance Parts & Services is today - 3108 2nd street was a small grocery store for many years (1955- 1970's)
