I suppose that's why most of the blacks stayed in the South? Were they not threatened? If it was so bad, why did they not leave too?

2:15 i guess lynchings and starvation aren't immediate threats these days.
@ThePinkMan

I think by "immediate threat" he meant something like a pogrom-type situation, as opposed to the general violence and poverty blacks had to deal with in the South.

Being shot by an white cop with anger problems or a racist duo of a father and son asshloes with rifles could count as lynching?

@@jeremybeau8334, what is holding a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach count as? What does armed robbery count as? What does serving time in prison count as? What does using counterfeit money count as? Sometimes choosing a life of crime catches up to you by way of crossing paths with a bad cop.

Bro, there were 245 lynchings of African Americans during the entire decade of the 1920s. Obviously the million African Americans who moved during the decade were not all under an immediate threat of being lynched. law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/shipp/lynchingyear.html
