That would be worth it in itself
@tomd-y6y3 ай бұрын
@@rog9601No it wouldn't be in my opinion. If its a video that was filmed that's okay but altering a picture into a video there's something really wrong about that.. It's an alteration of the person, very delusional and disrespectful, even dangerous.
@Seemsayin2 ай бұрын
@@tomd-y6y C'mon, Tom... Anyone can point a self-righteous finger. Please explain why it would be delusional, disrespectful, and even dangerous. It's easy to virtue-signal about things we're seeing for the first time. It's ludicrous to think that anyone's, "The sky might fall on you wicked people, if you don't think the same way as I do!" opinions are somehow any more valid than what the past may have looked like. Why is it ok to dream about the future, but not ok to speculate about the past? Or do you know for a fact that the world is still flat?
@tomd-y6y2 ай бұрын
@@Seemsayin Sorry if I came off self-righteous, but in my opinion I think that this would have a negative effect on people without any positive. Isnt it better to have actual memories of a person rather than some AI version overlaying your memory? With mannerisms or details that the AI got wrong?
@Seemsayin2 ай бұрын
@tomd72 Tom... you do have a point. The motions we saw in this video were extremely brief. Who's to say that those motions could have been real, as the memory tends fade? When you miss someone, that was near and dear... wouldn't you want something that was more than just a motionless picture? Should it matter that the memory may have moved, the way it did? When you want someone SO badly, that is no longer with you... would anyone care if they actually moved? Personally, this is the kind of AI that hasn't been exploited in a negative way. It hasn't been used to defame, nor profit from the deceased in such a manner that could be misconstrued as something to alter a truth, or someone's life. In my opinion... it does nothing more than enhance an undying memory.... not meant as proof for another's perception to settle or sway a particular matter. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for being civil. Much appreciated.

1:33 Amazing that similar looking scooters existed 110 years ago.
@inefekt4 ай бұрын
Initially it looks very similar with not much to distinguish it from modern day electric scooters aside from the large battery. But a quick google search tells me it was actually powered by petrol/gasoline using a two stroke engine, the battery you see very clearly was used to power its front and back lights. So definitely not an electric scooter, but a petrol powered one...
@transcendentalidiot33213 ай бұрын
@@inefekt It's a gas powered Autoped from roughly around 1915-1916. They were built by the Autoped Company in New York from 1915-1921. Top speed was supposedly 25mph (40kph), but in reality, anything past 20mph on these scooters was wobbly and dangerous. BTW - That box on the deck that looks like a battery- that's a toolbox. The early models of these were rather finicky and needed work constantly.

It's only amazing to those uneducated. The first electric vehicles were developed in the 1800s, and included: 1832 Robert Anderson, a Scottish inventor, demonstrated an early electric vehicle 1881 Gustave Trouvé, a French engineer, presented a tricycle powered by an electric motor at the International Electricity Exhibition in Paris 1884 Thomas Parker, an English inventor, built the first production electric car in Wolverhampton 1888 Andreas Flocken, a German engineer, built the first four-wheeled electric car, the Flocken Elektrowagen 1887 William Morrison, an American inventor, designed a light and powerful EV battery and wired it to a Des Moines Buggy Company carriage Electric cars became popular in cities in the early 20th century, especially with taxi drivers, wealthy women, and large hotels. They were quiet, easy to drive, and didn't emit smelly pollutants

It is a wonderful thing to see still images brought to life in this way yet I hope this form of picture AI does not get abused by unscrupulous persons who want to feed us with lies. What do you mean, "Bring back to life"? Those things never were alive.
@bobbuethe14773 ай бұрын
@@lewis7515 True, but they're representations of people who were once alive. It's a less awkward way of saying, "Bring back to life historical people of whom paintings and statues were made."
@lewis75153 ай бұрын
@@bobbuethe1477 What?.. That's just obvious sophistry. You added an artificial and tortured complexity, solely to justify a root absurdity... No painting or sculpture or sculpture can be, "brought back to life"; and neither - as you would have it - can any, "historical people of whom statues and paintings were made", be, "brought back to life". Nothing has changed, because the root proposition remains nonsensical. You can't bring paintings, sculptures, "back to life" - because they were always inanimate and were never alive. Equally, you can't bring historical people, "back to life" - neither physically, nor through any artificial representation of them: because, dead, is dead - and an artificial representation of them won't make them any less dead, and that artificial representation never was alive, of itself. For example, it would never cross the mind of anyone rational to suggest that a movie brings dead actors, "back to life". Nobody with mental capacity speaks, or even thinks, like that. The actor remains, dead - they're not, "brought to life", when you play a recording of their performance.... This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read: is it supposed to be some kind of joke?
@bobbuethe14773 ай бұрын
@@lewis7515 No. I'm just saying that the previous poster's intent was clear, and you're being needlessly pedantic.
@lewis75153 ай бұрын
@@bobbuethe1477 If that's what you meant, why does what you wrote bear no relation to it?.. Regardless, you can think what you please: your deficiencies aren't my responsibility. As far as I'm concerned, the poster, then you, wrote some kind of perfect nonsense - that's up to you: but, meanwhile, I've substantiated my assesment. After that, I just don't need your approvals - and I really couldn't be less interested in them. I hope that's clear.
