Now this is the type of AI I can get behind: literally bringing history to life!
@goodkrypollo170623 күн бұрын
The problem is. There is no way AI can capture the emotion of someone in a 100 year old picture. So the AI just assumes they are mostly happy photos when in reality they are not. It's trying to predict what a human might do in that situation. But it cant possibly get it 100 percent right. Therefore it is deceitful in nature.

I've used this tech on my own family member photos and the AI always gets it wrong. So basically you input a photo and the AI makes a video of it. But as soon as the video begins, the person's face becomes something different, even if only slightly, but enough for us to know the face in the video is NOT the face of the person in the photo. We humans can recognize faces so well and can tell small differences.
@kennyslg8914Күн бұрын
RIGHT. I've always had the same thought. It often feels like they're all just still lifeless portraits even though we know they lived complex lives just like we do.

Lincoln was amazing here, but as he smiled and moved his face it began to look less like him. All the theories in here on why he didn't smile in pics plus the believers' thumbs ups are hilarious. There can only be one right answer. And I doubt it was depression. The exposure time seems the most logical, but after looking it up it's just a sign of the times and not everyone thought smiles were appropriate for a portrait. Please google before guessing and try not to contribute to all the false info by giving thumbs ups to those who are incorrect. YT is rampant with several thumbs up on wrong information. 🙄🤡🤡
@DerLeser22019 күн бұрын
No, this has nothing to do with a time machine but is simply falsifying historical sources... The movements are all simply made up by the AI and in no way reflect the reality behind these images. Anyone who thinks that's good really has no idea about source criticism, the dangers behind it and about history in general.

Am I the only one who always gets so surprised they look so "human"? We still look the same, it's still us, nothing has changed no matter if it's today or thousand years ago. They were humans, they had lives, they cried, they laughed, they had troubles and joys. This is just so extremely unbelievable to me... It's like I can't believe those people existed. That they were nothing special or something different. They were just humans like any other....

I know it sounds silly, but being able to see figures like Lincoln move really makes you realize they were indeed real people, who laughed and cried and dreamed, so much more than still photographs in a textbook. This AI humanizes them in a really beautiful way.

@RullXov Yes, often teenagers go through a period of being drawn to Gothic themes when they feel displaced from the new and confusing adult world that awaits them.
