We raise New Zealand also I have all the colors also I do have three California doe's but getting out of them. I might only keep one who is a cross new Zealands and California. She is just a great all around meat rabbit. Thank you for sharing. Till next time God Bless.

I have been learning to Breed New Zealand white Rabbits for 2yrs now. I have had several litters but this is the first year I have a few Kitts with floppy ears. I have two litters from two different does. One kitt has two floppy ears and 3 kitts have one floppy ear. This is my first time breeding going into the hotter months. I have checkers their ears and see no sign of mites or ring worm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello, so with it being hot that makes sense let me explain. Rabbits do not sweat; however, they get rid of excess heat through their ears. So in warmer weather it is common to see young kits with long and floppy ears. Their ears grow fast in hot weather to help stay cool. In cooler weather I've seen kits ears grow slower and shorter to help stay warm. From my experience the kits do grow into their ears and their ears turn out straight and normal. I hope this helps! Happy Rabbit Raising!

I what to get a pair of new zelands to add to my herd but need to find a way to sell them how do you sell yours?
@BrokenArrowFarm3075 ай бұрын
I have a meat market established, where I sell mine. It just takes some time but establish a product then a market for them.

Are there any differences in mature size, grow out rate, feed conversion, or temperament between the color variations? I've only ever raised the whites.
@BrokenArrowFarm30710 ай бұрын
There can be some minor variations in all of the above, but nothing major from what I've seen.

Can you place adult rabbits in the same cage? If not, how big do cages need to be, and where to buy ready?
@BrokenArrowFarm3079 ай бұрын
In my experience it's best to keep the adults and kits separate once weaned. 30 x 30 x18 tall are my cages. I custom built my cages.

How did they breed to achieve that broken NZ rabbit?
@BrokenArrowFarm3077 ай бұрын
Just as getting the other colors and the original breed itself, they had to cross with other breeds.

We had 63 New Zealand whites at one time, before we got out of it. The reason was my husband didn't want to cull them anymore
@BrokenArrowFarm30710 ай бұрын
Oh very nice, that was a good sized herd. How long did you guys raise rabbits? Yes it can be a job when it comes to culling for sure.
@karenr6710 ай бұрын
3yrs. We had a chicken battery that we raised them in, that worked well.

@@karenr67 nice, I bet that worked well.

Can i know why you put them in a small cage? one of them seems to be uncomfortable and not able to walk properly. Do you at least let them run around for a bit in your farm?

Do you ever cross any of your breeds? Would you and why or why not?

I do, planning to do a video on it

Waiting to see that. I currently raise New Zealand and Rex and had our first litter of cross kits. They are 16 days old and seem to be growing at the same rate as pure New Zealand’s.
@BrokenArrowFarm30710 ай бұрын
@georgefamily14 That's very cool! From my experience the cross breds grow a little faster. Wait for them to get a little older and i bet you will see the difference.
