My bunny was so weird, he was a male (unfixed, I was a child and my parents didn't teach me better. I know better now don't worry). He exhibited a lot of the female traits, even though I was certain he was a male (I saw his balls lmao). Especially the sassiness. He was the sassiest bunny ever I stg. If I accidentally forgot to feed him his breakfast, he was sure to let me know. If I took something away from him, he would thump. Stop petting him? Thump. Forget to fill his water? A throw of his bowl followed by a thump. Clyde had such an attitude lol. He was a mini-rex who lived to be almost 10.5 :] I miss his sassiness. Also, he never sprayed from what I noticed? But he would mark his territory in the ways normally done by a female. He was so strange lol

My hubby rescued a bunny (rocky) from our pitts mouth. We've been telling everyone it's ours now bc if the neighbors really cared, they would've put them up better. I guess our dog (lacey) somehow got to rocky through the fence. Or the tiny guy tried to find his way out. I think he's a runt, he's so small. I'm still learning btw. But the ears have already gone down, & know he's past tot age. He just so little. But my hubby's been peeping in that area & said he thought the other babies didn't make it, I guess, buried. & mommas huge. But i know when my hubby went barging through the door, all excited, it was hard for him to even spit it out to me he had a bunny. He said he thought lacey got to 1 of our guinea pigs, slash. But saw long ears & thats when it clicked. Just the way rocky was moving my automatic thought was he was a boy. Bc he wouldn't stay still & was jumpy. It was kind of funny. Bc rocky look like he was running down stairs (out of his hands) but my hubby just catching him like some pretend air steps. I said awww, I wanna hold the bunny. & then he was calm. But he was so calm & sweet, I 2nd guessed myself. Thinking he could've been a female. Anywho, its only been 2 days & he's already getting used to eating. Out of my hands too. & he really is a love bug. Bc I thought well.m, how much salt can he like up bc I dont even sweat everywhere. Not just that, but what same areas is he gonna keep "grooming" then? & 💡ong awww. He legitimately is giving me kisses. So, I kept doing it back. To the point where I was thinking he'd eventually get tired of it. & he did. But then acted like he wanted to sleep near my face. But then my hubby got him & put him back in a pin. 2 days only & I think we won him over. Vice versa 2

I have a boy bunny named Mobius. I used to be afraid of rabbits after being bitten badly as a kid. Mobius was born in a pet shop after his pregnant mother was surrendered to them. I decided to look at the rabbits and worked up enough courage to pet them. Most flinched away, which in turn made me flinch, but Mobius started to fall asleep as soon as I started petting him. After a while, I held my hand out to him, ready to pull away if he tried to bite me, but he just started to gently lick my hand. I immediately fell in love. I didn’t take him home that day, but I kept finding myself going there to visit him. That lasted for a few weeks until I realized that I was starting to think of him as “my bunny” and had named him “Mobius” in my head, and would’ve been heartbroken if I had gone to visit him and he was gone. So, he came home with me. It’s been almost a year since then. He acts so much like a little dog! He loves running and jumping and snuggling with me in bed. He’s totally changed how I feel about rabbits. I’m no longer afraid of them. I love them.

We take your advice and lay on the floor all the time to be on her level and she will always come hang out, jump on our backs, or nuzzle up for head rubs. Hello do they still poop around the house even when they are litter trained?
@Cd04062 жыл бұрын
@@aronschultz3770 they usually will do some droppings around or near their hutch/home. I think it’s a dominance thing. They are very smart and easily toilet trained. I have a boy whose 1 and a half years. His name is Thumper and is so gentle and affectionate but as he’s gotten older he has become shy. He started spraying in the first year but now he doesn’t. Although on very very odd occasions he has sprayed when he jumps on the lounge so we don’t allow him on there unless we are sitting with him. But it’s more rare as his getting older. I don’t know if you will ever completely erase this behaviour from a male. He is completely an indoor rabbit. We had a girl before him (house rabbit) for 6 years and she was much more cleaner although sometimes moody and temperamental and not as easy going as Thumper.

Male bunny, Jack- I chose him on Mother's day 2016 from a litter born on my sister's farm. He was the runt, silkiest fur behind his ears. Now he's nearly 10 lbs, enjoys life as a free roamer on our first floor. He was easily litter trained and knows his boundaries; sleeps on "his" rug in the living room. He was neutered at 7 months, as he was getting aggressive with everyone's legs, and marking. It helped him chill out in that regard, but at age 6 he still binkies about. He loves to snuggle and endlessly begs for pets on his head. Thanks for your channel, Lorelei, I've learned much over the years.

How did u get your rabbits to get along ? I have a boy and just got a girl And he is Chases her around and try to bit her
@realcloudyy2 жыл бұрын
@@sobiaperez4484 It depends if they’re both spayed/neutered. Male and Female rabbits are best for bonding, but sometimes they don’t get along. I had to isolate both my rabbits (Male and Female) for a couple of weeks. Make sure they are both spayed/neutered before putting them together so they can’t have babies, if they still don’t get along I would suggest you keep them away from eachother. Rabbits are very clever, and they will send signs to the human (owner) when they are not happy. Signs are like: Running away from eachother, intense rabbit noises, fighting and avoiding eachother. But, I am no expert. If you want to know more I would suggest going to your local vet or some research.

Same! Mine are brother and sister, 8wks old now, I’ve seen the girl mounting the boy a few times, but they usually are snuggled together and do everything together The girl (short white fur w gray ears & red eyes) is smaller and gets scared easier, the boy (fluffy black fur, a lionhead mix) is more confident & bigger They’ve each got such different personalities, it’s so cute to see My daughter knew I was looking for a bunny and found some, she went to pick it up for me and the lady said we had to get both of them together Now I can’t even image if I’d only gotten one of them, they’re perfect together & really bonded I’m hoping I don’t have any issues as they get older before getting them spayed & neutered

I adopted my little princess bunny right when the pandemic happened, since it was a good time for me to be home and dedicate my time to her, a month after I decided to adopt a male rabbit to keep her company and so she can also have someone to truly relate to. The bonding at first was challenging, but with constant dedication and watching a lot of videos and reading a lot of instructions on bonding, I was able to bond my rabbits in 2 days! Still can’t believe it to now. They are both free roaming, have access to the best hay 24/7, they drink a lot of water, give them a little bit of spring mix in the afternoon and some organic pellets. I give them a little snack from time to time, blueberries and bananas are their favorites. They are both very unique but love each other so much. We are all great roommates. I’ve definitely learned a lot from all these videos. Thank you! ❤️

Pets are allowed, it’s just a very long flight and the airline i flew with doesn’t allow rabbits or any animals in the cabin, and I didn’t want to put my rabbits through the stress of spending so long in the where the pets go on planes with dogs and all the noise it would’ve just stressed them out to much, so i thought the best thing to do with them would be to give them to some friends of ours, they are very happy with their new owners and are doing very well and settled in very quickly, they moved in with them in January, and when I visited them before I left it took them a while to recognise me (they eventually did tho 😂) but I’m glad they are happy with their new owners and are having a great life! My female lion head was always very receptive to my affection, but as she gets older, she just can't get enough of it now. She used to be more interested in being active and getting her exercise. But she will come running for head rubs and pets every time. I used to have a male Dutch rabbit, and he was extremely friendly/affectionate from day 1. But he was given to me by an elementary school, at three months old. So he was pretty much used to being mauled by kids. He was a licking champ.

By then she had already pretty much gotten used to our whole small apartment being "hers" and I just wish I knew the "neutral territory introduction" thing sooner. Luckily we recently moved to a new apartment and it's been great! They had already, through a lot of ups and downs, gotten used to each other, but ever since we put them in the same room in the new apartment (on neutral territory) they have been absolutely in love and getting along SOOO well. It's amazing to look at and fills my heart with joy! All I have to say is definitely listen to the rabbit-savy people, folks! Unfortunately two weeks after my first rabbit died, she died unexpectedly while getting fixed at the vet. It was devastating losing two rabbits in the same month, but now, I have a new 7 month old male bunny and he is very rambunctious and affectionate. I love him a whole lot. This is the best "first-time-owner" info video I've ever seen. I had two rabbits during the teens and, fortunately, the adoption agency had much of this advice for me, letting me give them a nice place to live (free-roam with flexible grid-fences to protect them from wires and the baseboards and furniture legs from them.) Since they were neutered, I only had to deal with the occasional "oopsie" and litter-box cleaning was a snap since I took their advice and got them a massive cement mixer style tray for their litter-box instead of the tiny ones they sell in pet stores for rabbits. Alternately, you can get them a cat or even dog-sized litter-tray if you really want to give the pet store your business.

I had a girl bunny! She was my first. She was certainly sassy, but so so loving. Her sassiness made her that more lovable! She had the cutest personality. Very upfront, protective, and demanding…….but also snuggly and coquettish. I don’t think new rabbit owners need to choose between sexes. Just learn your bunny-pay attention-they will show you what they want and need. 🥰

Hi I recommend a boy bunny! They are calm and very sweet! Also you won't have to worry about fixing them as early! I haven't has a girl bun yet but my boy bunny is very cute rambunctious and adorable!
@ChikinKween2 жыл бұрын
@@bye427 actually I would say that girls are usually easier on the spaying/neutering front haha- I’ve owned 13 bunnies over the years and in my experience the spraying that males do early on is very time consuming to clean and take care of. Whereas girls you just have to spay them before they’re 5. However both are wonderful and sweet and I love boys and girl bunnies! Just pick the one that you feel is right for you ❤️

The pet store i got my first bunny said they only sold female bunnies... imagine my surprise, when she turned out to be a he! But he was very adorable and awesome.. when he passed away i never thought I'd find another bunny as amazing as he was, until I had a chance to pick my own bunny from many cages full of bunnies at a pet place.. and one little bunny hopped over to me.. while all the other bunnies hid in corners, she seemed so cute and hopped over as if to greet me, so I picked her, and she turned out to be even More amazing.. we understood eachother so well, she knew how to communicate what she wanted.. and was very affectionate, and a very quick learner. I'd say either gender of bunny can be very wonderful. Just remember they have their own personalities, just like people.. some are more shy, some are more outgoing, one of mine was very creative and liked to modify her things in her cage to suit her needs/wants.

I've had 5 girls and 8 boys over the years. Girls tend to be either the sweetest of sweethearts or...grumpy af sass machines. Boys tend to be sweet most of the time. Personally I think boys are less of a gamble personality wise. Never had issues with them spraying in the house. They would wait until they got outside. But that might be different if they don't have the opportunity to go out of the house of course.

I have both! They’re very different but that’s more due to their past, my male being neutered and my female not being spayed etc. My female rabbit came from my boyfriend’s house, she was a caged rabbit and they got her from a drug addict. She is very very territorial and is quite aggressive, she cannot stand being touched but that’s not a problem for me. My male, who i’ve had since he was 8 weeks old, is amazing in terms of behaviour and our relationship! My female was never going to get a home like the one I have given her and so I decided to take on this huge task and give her the life she deserves, they’re massively in love now too so it’s all wrapped up now 💍 i don’t have to touch her, i have learned that bunnies simply don’t need this. Therefore, I only touch her to cut her nails, brush her fur etc. She has bitten me once and tried to bite me multiple times but she is getting better. I must get her spayed, this will help massively like it did for my male. He was a crazy baby!🤣 He’s 1 and she’s 2. Best decision of my life and that’s thanks to Lorelei!

💝🐰💐🥰 In my experience for bunnies as pets, females are usually more timid and reserved, but once they bond with you they can be very affectionate!!! Although females are sassy and demanding, it is THEIR WAY or the highway!! Male rabbits are usually more playful and outgoing and are generally easier for people to bond with for life if you are able to imprint on them as their owner before they hit puberty. If you want a bunny that will play with you a lot or you also have dogs/cats as pets, I suggest getting a male. If you want to get two rabbits, you can get two females, I have never had two females raised together end up fighting unless one or both go through maternity, they can make great bonded pairs as sisters for life!!! Two males even brothers will end up fighting for territory if they both aren’t neutered. Having a neutered male and a female also make a great bonded pair. I usually don’t suggest for people to spay their female unless they are at risk for unwanted pregnancy, because I know of several people who’s female rabbits when through a traumatic experience physically and emotionally after getting spayed. Always do what’s best for your bunny, they deserve as much kindness and consideration as any other precious living soul !!! 💕🐰🌸🕊

Ive had both. My first bunny was an unneutered male and he was my soulmate, ive never had that strong of a relationship with another animal before or after. He was very calm, friendly and extremely affectionate. I miss him so much. ❤ Then i got two bunnies the year after my first passed away. A male and female, they were a lovely couple, the male was also super calm, while the female is all over the place and extremely naughty. She gets into everything and bunny profing has never been enough with her. She is the queen of the house and extremely moody. Even my dog is afraid of her. Her partner passed away last year, so its just her now. But she is still happy and have grown more affectionate with us now. Her name is Leah and she is 9 years old, she turns 10 on christmas eve.

I can’t even begin to thank you and Lennon for making these videos. I recently lost a bunny to stasis due to expired pellets if you don’t already please discuss this in a video. I’m not sure if the pellets are the full reason as the vet couldn’t give me a direct answer but she assured me it played a role in midnights sudden death.

Lovely video!😊💕 I found an abandoned domestic rabbit by my building (people actually saw a woman dump him out of a bag, with his bag of pellets and his water bottle, and keep walking 💔). He became the love of my life. Because of his incredibly loving nature, I guess that someone really loved him when he was growing up, but then disappeared from his life, and the people left with him didn’t want him. I am so blessed to have had him in my life for 7 years. He got prostate cancer and we had to do the unthinkable in August of 2021, and I miss him every single day. I still talk to him because it just feels like his spirit is still with me. Bun love is forever. ❤️💔

I have 2 baby bunnies, a brother and sister, and this does describe each of their different personalities! The girl gets scared easily but they are both affectionate and comfortable with me When I snuggle with them, the boy likes to explore and not stay still as much and the girl when she’s laying on me if I stop petting her she bites my shirt until I pet her again My girl is always grooming her brother, I haven’t seen him groom her but his fur is fluffy and long & hers is short so he needs more grooming😅 Anyways, I think that’s why she loves to be pet and attention from me❤ She has also mounted him a few times This morning I fed them their pellets and the boy jumped in & was sitting in their water bowl while he ate, lol

We got our little Rosie yesterday, a 10 week old mini lop girl. ☺️❤️🐰 She was born in a pet shop, kept in a large cage, scared when the pet shop worker took her out :( but we decided to spoil her from the beginning. I believe we will bond quickly. It’s her second day, she was already roaming around a living room, explored all the corners (bunny proofed), sniffed us and jumped around us. ☺️ she is still a little hesitant to be petted, and she sleeps outside of her little house, but I hope it will be better 🥹

I just got a boy yesterday! I named him Cinonni (sin-on-ee), Cin for cinnamon, onni meaning happy boy. We've already bonded, which is absolutely perfect! It was love at first sight. Hes 1-3 years old, and not neutered. I dont know what the oldest is that a boy bun can be neutered, but Im going to call the vet tomorrow and hopefully set an appointment (fingers crossed). I've watched almost, if not all, of yours and a lot of Cinabuns videos. After I watched one of your videos, I was hooked and have been binge watching them ever since! Lol I've been begging my parents to let me get a bun, as long as I keep the smell down, and pay for everything on my own. After a year of many no's, I finally got a yes. They all think im crazy for everything Ive bought (critical care, gas relief drops, ect.), and how much Ive spent. They dont realize how much rabbits need and how sensitive their tummies are. I want to be a vet surgeon(long-term) once I graduate high school, I love research, and want to provide the absolute best care for my bun. Thank you for everything you have taught me, I would never have met Cinonni if it wasn't for you! Also, he's a rescue, not bought. Thanks to you, rescuing & proper bun care is a new passion of mine!

I'm so lucky to have both! Maggie came first and she is absolutely my sidekick and she is the big boss in our house. Very confident, curious, and loves meeting new people. Toki Wartooth came two years later and he adores Maggie and spends most of his time trying to catch her attention. He's easily startled and very wary of anything and anyone new he encounters. But he is also a sweet, gentle little man who loves to play games and nuzzles frequently. I love how distinct their personalities are and it was fascinating learning how they communicate with me very differently. Toki loves to thump out of sheer excitement or impatience while a Maggie thump is rare and to be taken seriously. Maggie will make it very clear if she wants something while Toki doesn't ask for much and is just very excited for any treats, snuggles, new toys etc. I love them both for who they are and I respect their preferences when it comes to interacting with them.
