Any card can be skilled if used in a smart way. Some of the more famous examples are kiting with an ice golem or using a tornado for a king tower activation. For most cards, it's tough to gauge their "skill level" because you only have 10 elixir to work with at a time, which usually means up to 2-3 cards at a time. So you either need to play few cards with multiple purposes or many cards with single purposes. Usually the "few cards with multiple purposes" is seen as "unskilled" because they're expensive and kind of do everything for you, and barbarian hut is one of the prime examples of that. It handles both defense and offense for you.

Can’t believe they made Barb Hut balanced to slightly below average 4 times and then proceeded to nerf it all 4 times. Barb Hut isn’t nearly as annoying as the other spawners and it doesn’t deserve the shit it’s gotten from the balance team. I can’t believe they think the Barbarian Hut rework was good, it was one of the worst in the game’s history. I wish they just kept it in the state it was in after the 1st health nerf, it was perfectly fine at that point and needed no more changes whatsoever

Especially considering how popular Xbow has been in upper ladder for such a long time. Iirc xbow and mortar were in around 30-40% of top ladder decks combined at one point in time. It's not that easy to counter considering how much health it has and all the cheap defensive options which can be used reactively to protect it, unlike most other win conditions where you need to use your supporting troops proactively. I complain about it often because I lose almost every single match against X-bow decks since my deck is very defensive and lacks a strong offense. My strategy usually had a positive average win rate against most other meta decks before the addition of champions.

I always thought the problem with the spawners was putting them down and forcing you to constantly spend elixir to avoid chip damage, letting the opponent build a push you can't defend or having you ignore all the chip so you're not in an elixir deficit. I think an interesting way they could go with the barb hut is making it spawn barbs at a much faster pace, but 1 by 1. This way they would not get to the tower, but force the user to capitalize on the numbers advantage without relying on the opponent's constant elixir going to stop the waves. The skill now lays on the barb player who is using a card that's useless unless you're properly supporting the barbs coming out

@@yowza9638 No, because the barb hut is a 6-elixir commitment and if the opponent plays something slow like a bowler or musketeer, they are building up individually stronger units on their side than an occasional barbarian for a cheaper cost than the barb hut. They will have more elixir to work with on defense, and the barbs won't really do anything because they're very slow.

Trickling in RTS games is *really* weak. You're essentially spending more to not have a numbers advantage. If the opponent puts up a strong ranged option, then the barbarians will just get killed before they can do anything and you've spent 6 resources on doing nothing but give the opponent a chance to build up their own push.

The early days were something, Spawner decks were the first time I audibly groaned when I had to face them. That being said, I do like defensive options and from what you reported this card served that role really well for what it was. I don't get this shift towards hyper aggression focused games in a lot of things nowadays, if someone wants to play lame, let them. It's up the player to figure out/build a deck around that.

I just groan every time i face hog cycle bait or graveyard now. I have never seen a company go from we want the game to be offensive to lets make all the meta deck win conditions pop up on a tower and then add 7 cycle defence cards in every meta deck every season.

imagine if it was 7 cost, waves 7 seconds apart, 2 per wave, rocketable, spawn 1 on death, and too big to be placed behind tower *BUT* little to no decay (5 HP a second MAX) giving it as a niche as the single most long lasting structure card. It wouldn't be spammable if it were a big building because you would run out of space if you tried to spam it. I feel a rework like this is in line with the original card's design without ruining the meta or anything.

The E-Giant gets changed too much. He could start working on the video now and by the time it releases, E-Giant can move as fast as a Lumberjack, cost 3 elixir and reflect three times the damage. This second idea doesn't really sound like a good idea for the game, but for a party mode, hell yeah! Would be extremely funny to just spawn like 10 spear goblins at once for 5 elixir. Basically a spear goblin army xD I think that they should consider a building champion which can use such an ability. A spawner which can, when pressed the button for 1 or 2 elixir, spawn troops worth 2 waves immediatly or something. But that would be kinda boring ngl.

I haven't played Clash in a long, long time, but seeing this has made me somewhat interested. I used to do the 3 Spawner strat early in the game, using Barb, Goblin, and Skeleton, and I thought that what they had there was a little powerful, but could have stayed. The Barb. Hut was the most offensive of the three, while the Goblin Hut was the most defensive, and the graveyard (I believe that's what it is called) was mostly just for keeping enemy units away. The three together covered each other nicely, but I admit they did too well. However, I would have said to make them spawn less or something similar, thus making it so that you had to actually play other cards. The core concept of a card that can apply a small, but constant, amount of pressure is something that I don't really think is in the game currently, and I kinda miss. Even if these three are never good again, I'd at least like them to be fun.

Edit:Oh, I just saw the info at the end of the video saying you were already working on the history of miner, but I just wanted to point that I find it a really interesting topic and would definitely want to watch in the future Video suggestion: The history of miner+spell cycle and how it got nerfed so many times and still be a solid deck up to nowadays

It was really interesting to see how miner has worked itself into so many different decks over the years. I used it with lava hound in the early days, but it's also seen a lot of usage in hog cycle decks, graveyard decks, and bait decks.

Man, watching these videos brings back so many memories. I used to play this game every day with my friends back in high school when it first came out. Unfortunately, we all lost interest as we got older, and it didn't help that the game became a frustrating mess. It's was fun at the time but not anymore
