This video takes a deep dive into Clash Royale's Barbarian Barrel's History. For a 2 elixir spell, this card has quite an interesting past. This video will go in depth from the day it was released to how it is currently talking about the reasoning behind its journey to where it is today. Also, yes I did get it wrong when I talked about barbarian barrel in my Witch Analysis video. The barbarian barrel has had 13 changes, not 11!

I feel like one of the reasons why spells have such high use rates is because we simply do not have a lot of them. Less competition between them means that they are easily going to find a place in decks, without feeling outclassed. This would simply not be the case if we had double the amount of spells in the game.

The only question is what would a new spell even look like. Most of the status effects people can think of are already prominent and it would be tough to think of a new concept that is not just “(x) clone”

@@cyanide167 we could see spells with a different area rather than effect. To this day, we have no horizontal spell, and no cross-shaped spell. These are a good way to start.

@@geometryemperor the only problem is that you have to ask yourself “why would someone pick this”. Which is what this video explained exactly. If you do a cross shaped spell, whats the benefit of it compared to a full circle. And in what situation would the horizontal spell work that wouldn’t just be “oh just use it in dual pushes, no problem”, compared to something like tornado or log. I’m not down to ignoring ideas like that but it’s back to square one with the question of “what’s the goal”

Some ideas I have (sorry if they already exist, haven't played in a while) -A wind spell that pushes enemies back and yours forward -A spell that does more damage the less crown towers you have -A rolling spell like Log or BB that does more damage the further along its roll it is

Log is a legendary card, and that means its harder to upgrade. Barbarian barrel is an epic card so its easier to upgrade. Thats one of the reason why i use barbarian barrel instead. i also like that the barbarian barrel can be used for counter push. Log is still amazing though.

For me, i definitely find myself on Team Barbarian Barrel. As a pekka user, A can tank and damage large pushes with pekka, then use the barb-barrel to deal damage and get value (which i can to because the lack of knockback wont cause troops to re-target) Underrated channel, i've been subbed since 5k and i wish nothing but the best for you.

Suggestion. Make a video about the history of princess. That'll be a very interesting dive - covering a path from the best card in the game to a joke, whose only role now is to die baiting spells for other better cards to do all the job, where even in that small niche she's now getting replaced by spear goblins or dart goblin (in competitive scene this year princess had no appearances, one of three cards with such fate in entire game, in logbait which is her archetype, everyone replaced her with the dart goblin). There won't be many balance changes to look into (although i believe she's the only card who never was buffed directly, and has the lowest amount of changes overall among all other cards), this will be a story of her being exceptionally bad right now rather as a product of meta development and skill increase of players overall.

My guy, the princess is pretty strong if you play her right. Granted, she's not very versatile when it comes to the type of deck she can be in. However, she's the only card that will stay alive indefinitely (she must be responded to) and can get massive value on defense. And that's before you start stacking her. She is pretty high skill, though, and there are many more versatile options at top level which is where you're probably getting your bad impression of the princess from

@@airpodzyt1566 high skill players don't princess the bridge most of the time. And if they do, it's because they recognize that their opponent's best counters are out of cycle. And dart goblins are good and better in some matchups than princesses, sure, but at the end of the day I think it's really up to the play style of the player as to which one they should use

Exactly. A card is not overpowered because it is used a lot, but because it is disruptive. Some cards serve specific purposes that are essential in a deck, suck as spells. Others, such as 2017 barbs and 2019 exce were disruptive.
