This is interesting, I thought as the common trope of skeletons and the unique idea of it being the only giant to target troops. My question is why not use it defensively? Almost all the skeleton cards are defensive. There's currently only a handful that are purely offensive. That being WBs, Graveyard, Balloon and Scarell. Every other card is more defensive so it makes sense for it. Also side note how about a Golem video? It's been affected quite a bit with the night witch and beatdown so it'll be interesting to see it's development

The giant skeleton was ridiculously op back in the day. I instantly put it in my main deck and never removed it. It literally took down hordes of troops with its bomb. I was safe no matter how I played.

Ice wizard and barbarians didn't die to fireballs, arrows were too slow to deploy that minion horde took out anything flying in seconds, zap was broken and log wasn't released yet. No one sane would have 3 spells, dealing with barbarians would cost no less than 4 elixir if you're going against them and want a connection to tower. You'd have to use two spells and a lot of elixir. I'd just spam hog rider or giant skeleton with minion horde and if by some miracle you manage to kill the minion horde, I'd use goblin barrel while the hog's still tanking. Ice wizard was more of a pain than barbarians, especially since he costed only 3 elixir. It didn't get to tower, but its survivability was worse than modern day firecracker and not a lot of people had him. They literally nerfed half of my deck. Was fun while it lasted tho.

I've been playing GS for 6+ years now and i think the time when the bomb killed the wizards and muskteers was the best time . Other than that i think he is fairly balanced now . But for the current meta a 2-5% hp buff or a little more hit speed would be great .

In terms of your idea Gratz, I think an interesting way to do it is when the Giant Skeleton has 50% of his health left, the gunpowder in his backpack barrel explodes, dealing damage only to troops, knocking them back like the royal giant evolution. Then to balance that the bomb deals damage only to buildings and towers. That way you have a way to attack troops AND towers in the most logical way. Of course maybe it would be a bit too radical to have both conditions only dealing damage to troops and only to towers in which case you can just adjust the crown tower damage for them to fix the problem

I'm one of those giant skeleton players who has stuck with him through thick and thin throughout almost the entirety of the time I've played Clash Royale. I've used him since 2017 not long after I unlocked him and still do to this very day. Giant skeleton is special to me. I'm not sure why but something about his appearance and his unique trait of doing massive death damage with his bomb really made me adore him. He's been my favorite card in the game for years now. The deck I've used him in to push on ladder is completely unique too, the popular decks mentioned only share 2-3 cards at most with my deck and I've felt a sense of pride that I was able to craft a unique deck of my own using him that actually got me somewhat high in ladder back in the day. That's why ever since you started making these videos covering different troops I was really hoping you'd cover the giant skeleton someday, and my wish has finally come true! So thank you for covering his history and I agree that he's in a fairly balanced state these days. I think he could benefit from slight buff or two but it's not necessary.

Cannon Cart might be an interesting one to cover. The only troop that turns into a building. It arrived at the same time as our infamous midladder menace, the megaknight, and has been in and out of some of the most broken deck archetypes. There are many instances where it's in the bottom of use rates but in the top of win rates, being a very underrated card. It's been changed so many times that even I have a hard time remembering. And now it's in a weird spot where it's not really used, but I can't help but keep noticing it's incredible potential in every deck I play it in. Been my favorite card since its release. (quick tip for midladder players put there, this card literally counters your opponent's entire deck. full counters witch, wizard, megaknight, executioner, ebarbs, you name it.)

I personally use it in a hog deck which I've found to be really good. I do think it could use a slight mass decrease as cards often get stuck behind it. Great video though

It's kinda weird to even consider Giant Skeleton a giant in the first place, one reason I find relating to its name. Goblin giant is a Goblin that is also a giant, same for electro giant and royale giant, their name ends with 'giant', being called giants due to their nature. Giant Skeleton however, doesn't sound like a skeleton-like giant, but instead, a giant-sized skeleton, a skeleton of colossal height and mass, 'giant' being its name due to its size instead, which would make sense in the context of why it doesn't prioritize targeting buildings, as in terms of nature, it is not a giant, it's a skeleton. Another example of this is the Giant Snowball, its prefix 'giant' being used to point towards its massive size, because after all, I don't think a big chunk of snow can be considered *a* giant. The idea of it would have changed drastically if it would have been called "Snowball Giant".

I honestly LOVE the giant skeleton, when I first played clash Royale I used him, and once I got older and knew synergies and things I STILL use him (with prince or sparky believe it or not) I just love the design because he’s so goofy but also menacing, I think an interesting idea was if they made him go directly to the tower like other giants, but the crown tower bomb wouldn’t do as much damage. It also would be cool to see a Giant Skeleton Evolution that throws the bomb like a bomber or something lol.

I dont play clash royale anymore but back during launch, giant skeleton was by far the most fun card I had playing with the game. something about just trying to get this battering ram into the base and have it blow up felt so invigorating. Its a card that is built around its death so it was always fun to play around when it died. Its not a card with synergy nor does it do everything. Its just a damage sponge that dishes out afterwards and he really doesnt need to be anything more than that.

Back when I did play my favorite deck included the Giant Skeleton because I really liked the death bomb. The same went with Balloon so it was nice to see that they were a good combo for a while. Before I took a massive break from the game from 2017 to 2021, Giant Skeleton was by far my favorite card. It’s unique and the premise of having the often huge challenge of bringing it all the way to the crown tower for a really good damage reward was always super appealing to me. Now though, card evolutions just make me feel like I cannot make a deck centered on it since if I don’t use the only evolved car I have, which is the royal giant, I’m just going to drop crowns.

I just came back to the game 2 days ago and this dude has carried me the whole game. When launch, I was stuck on arena 4 until I started to use the deck I still use during this day: witch, wizard, skeleton giant, fury, arrows, skeleton army, minions horde and baby dragon. It is a 4.1 elixir deck but it literally took me to where I'm now. My current trophie mark is 5347 and I'm arena 15, I have played 11 matches and only lost 1 match, I hope I can still play this deck in future arenas.

One of my combos I do with this card is that I always place it with battle ram behind it to make it faster if I'm attacking, if it's fireballed and I have wall breakers I can place that on the same or opposite side depending on the situation.

I would love it if you would cover the dart goblin. It's been my favorite card since its release and i've always tried to use it in decks, even going as far as to make it my win condition in some decks. You've also become my favorite clash royale youtuber to watch as of late and these types of videos are so informative while also being entertaining. Keep up the good work!

I don't know if there's any actual sense or connection for mentioning the two cards together, but Giant Skeleton and Dart Goblin were probably my most favourite cards when I played. There's quite the fun both in the slow roll and in the quick buck. Chill defensive and adrenaline-inducing ...also defensive I guess. Both very satisfying to successfully turn into win conditions. So yeah, I also hope for a Dart Goblin video.

The giant skeleton was the reason i first got into the game in 2017 the bomb was so much fun and rewarding to use. Nowadays it might be considered toxic or boring but it holds a place in my heart

The change you mentioned at the end would definently be a massive buff, mainly because it would be able to take out swarm troops really easily. Not only that but massive pushes would die extremely quickly because the bomb would be enough to make most troops weak enough to be taken out with a small spell. You can actually see something similar to this with the mighty miner as it has a bomb that activates when the troop is alive. A lot of pro players even use the mighty miner just for the bomb in a lot of defenses. That’s 5 elixir spent on just using the mighty miner bomb. Now imagine this with the giant skeleton. Let’s say the bomb activating is worth 5 elixir. That means for 1 elixir, you get an ice golem that fights back. That is broken.

I love this card. My deck that iv'e used ever since 2017 is: Giant skeleton, Balloon, Skeleton army, Bomber, Bomb tower, arrows, rage , and freeze. The highest I ever got with it was grand champion, but it's by far my best deck. I love using skeleton emotes while playing "spooky scary skeletons" in the background when using this deck XD

One deck I've used with GS is Giant skeleton, bats, Cannon cart, miner, Wizard or Firecracker, Zap, Royal ghost, and night witch I havent ever attempted to climb up the leagues but this deck alone got me up to legendary arena and up a few leauges back in the day

I remeber as I young kid, giant skeleton was my favorite card. i loved rekting my oppenents pushes in mid ladder. I kept overleveling that giant skeleton, until one day in 2021, they killed it. Destroying its death bomb damage to the ground. I was devestated. I tried to switch things up but all my cards were underleveled and I had very little experience with them. I quit the game. Than I came back in 2023, I was suprised to see that progression became a lot easier. Not only that, but the giant skelton was doing far better. I was eventually able to upgrade other cards and now I run E-giant and golem decks. Still remeber and hold trauma of the fateful day. And even after I came back I still was stuck at the bottom of my area since I had no good deck to use since if I tried any other archetype than I would just get destroyed since my cards were so underleveled. I think the reason why giant skelton players are so chill and un toxic is because we have seen the worse. We have seen the giant skeleton threw its darkest hour yet we still continue to fight on. Unlike mega night or e barb users who were always spoiled with low-skill good cards, we have have seen and faught threw terror. I always personally liked the giant skeleton and I've used it almost ever since I unlocked it. My personal debt consisted of the giant skeleton, mega knight, elite barbarians, sparkey, mirror, arrows, inferno dragon, and lastly musketeer. A more expensive deck but I've used the same deck ever since the mega knight was released being the technical most recent card in my deck and it has served me pretty well. As of recent Clash Royale which I actually just got back into. I am currently pushed up to dragon's lair so doing pretty good with this deck.

This card by far was my favorite card. I don’t play nearly as much as I did back then but this was such a joy of a card that I still remember fondly. ⁠@@cjleehazeyeah but we run into the same issue that has happened since 2016 where that bomb being able to devastate a lot of troops with a massive amount of damage is extremely unfair and unbalanced. At this point of 2023, we might as well call him a win condition now since his original purpose anyway was to get him to the tower to get full potential of his bomb, which is tough but is why a lot of people do respect others who use him because it’s hard to get value for what he does offensively. That said, considering that it’s not seen very often and it’s rates are middling at best, it could consider a small buff on a stat that hasn’t been touched yet (no, do not change speed because that’ll make it the same level as pre release cannon cart, which was extremely broken) I personally used this card a lot back then in 2017 when it was in its worst and then never really used it again until 2021 where unsurprisingly, was still really bad. That also said, I love this card for how straight forward and stupid it is.

fun fact i have been there when the skeleton giant was OP as hell my deck was shining thx to it i was able to Overpower the people who drops there cups to troll the people that are at the lower areas is was fun to see there troll pride getting destroy by my lower level deck after so many nerfs on that card some how i still manage to keep using it even if is shit but thx to the new times my deck is to say the least a Huge pain in the ass to play against to the fact that it can cycle 2 of the main stars in this deck of mine. if you want to know my deck here is what i use : Skeleton Giant sparky electro wizard mage/executioner both can be used arrows rain rage goblin horde dark prince well i have been trying the hero cards on this deck by replacing rage with one of them but the old deck is a absolute Monster even now, people may say is hard to use if you really want to try it, but if you can grasp the way to use it you can Win against players that are stronger in level then you but it takes time to learn the combos you can create with this deck it works in 2v2 too but ask long so you team player dont give up after failing to defend a tower or pushing to the other side.

The thing I hate is when the giant skeleton is attacking a tower and then stops JUST TO CLEAR OTHER TROOPS. But when it dies near the tower, I love the powerful bomb. He’s on my current card deck alongside Evo Knight, Pekka, Mini Pekka (overly powerful alongside Pekka), Wizard, Fireball, Arrows, and Giant or Minions interchangeably. I have a pretty solid win rate, about 60-75%

I find it intriguing because it's just never really something I ever paid attention to, kinda just wrote it off as high risk high reward and therefore not very good, and its use rate going way up with Goblin Giant felt pretty random, so I'd definitely like to hear about how exactly that happened
