I'd like to see Dan get a canonical win against one of the big fighters. He has shown he's capable of holding his own against some fighters, and his strength noticeably increases as he gets older. In Street Fighter IV he can perform the Haoh Gadoken, which is actually stronger than the Shinku Hadouken! (though it's range is much worse and it takes all of his strength to perform it) So he becomes quite capable, and I think he could at the very least challenge some fighters.

At his prime, I'd say Yamcha was the "Ken Masters" of Dragon Ball. But you would have had to have actually watched the original Dragon Ball series to understand, which virtually everyone who makes fun of Yamcha never has, which explains their ignorance.

I know the vs games aren't canon, but in those Dan actually does have his own version of the Shun Goku Satsu. But of course it's Dan, so he does it backwards and just blows himself up. And yes, it is one of the most powerful moves in the franchise. Even more powerful than Akuma's. Because it's funny.

He may have a unnecessarily large ego, but that is clearly well-deserved pride and many of his strenghts are unseen in basic gameplay of fighting game. Dan has many friends, he is observant and capable of learning from his mistakes.

The funny thing is, if Dan was a real guy with actual ki powers he would beat 99.9% of all fighters. Only the Ryus and Guiles and Chun Lis of the world would be any competition for him. He might be the worst of the best, but he's still one of the best.

I've always loved Dan. I remember seeing him in Alpha 1 I was a lil kid. So seeing him do a Hadoken "albeit much shorter range 😅" with one hand looked amazing to me. Played the crap outta Marvel Super Heroes vs Streetfighter with him and Sakura... Good Times. I'm stoked to play him in SFV. Ima play him whether he sucks or not 😂🤣.

In MvC2 Dan is playable (yes he is!!!) and you can do the San Goku Satsu exactly with the reverse input buttons than the ones you do for Akuma! What is even funnier is that Dan will either explode with the enemy character ending the fight into a Draw (if this is the last fight) or Dan will remain alive with 1 hit point winning you the fight. it is a 50% chance for either variation and there is no way to control it. It is a good way strategy though in MvC2 to use this move if you have 2 remaining fighters and the enemy has only 1 fighter which is a guarantee way to win! And that is why Dan Hibiki was banned in the national tournaments of MvC2!!

Dan may not ever have a real win in a fight, but there are a couple of things you can say about him. One is his ability to endure pain and suffering -- beating after brutal beating, he just keeps going on without pause. Another is his unflappable self-confidence -- no matter how many times, or how BADLY he loses, he just shrugs it off and is genuinely confident about his chances for victory in the next bout. Of course Dan is completely out of touch with reality -- but in a way, wouldn't we all like to have a little bit of that "never say die" attitude?

Ryo Sakazaki from Art of Fighting served as a model for the development of Dan Hibiki, a joke character in the Street Fighter series. Capcom decided to make a joke character based on Ryo since NeoGeo kinda modeled Ryo after Ryu, and some of their moves and build are similar to Ryu. So Capcom make Dan to be an ass character to make fun of NeoGeo's flagship fighting series at the time (as in, your best character from AoF can never match our SF characters)

I understand that Dan is a character that was originally made to be a joke but I would like them to give him an adventure / video game of his own in which he could show that this is not a useless nor much less just a parody and he could improve a Little as a person ... even that he already is, perhaps improving his saikyo art by giving him new movements and perfecting his ki but still maintaining his classic style at least some of his own comics where he is the protagonist and using some things that have been wasted in the past and they did not mention again as he is able to use the satsui no hado or at least his otoko michi which they practically discarded after streeth fighter vs snk or also something of his father's past because in addition to the fact that we know that he was a master of martial arts and that he died at the hands of sagat, we do not know anything more about him

Dan is getting better and Sfv is showing that he has improved gameplay and story . He won a tournament to promote saikyo style and did a commercial (although I'm sure he didn't fill in the address again like in sf4 since still no one came) but considering that he is no longer homeless and his life of poverty is less than it was in alpha and the fact that he is a somewhat competent fighter at this point I will say That Dan is not as useless as he was back then
