Something that very few people remember is how late we got frightfur patchwork. If it was released at fusion enforcers, fluffal had potential as a top deck (since it had the sheep as a drident+whiptail counter) if ocg results are considered valid. It's hard to say where will the mechanic go from here, honestly, considering how developed it has gotten throughout a couple decades by this point. Maybe a Fusion rework could be a possibility, if only to open new venues for the mechanic in future years? That, or a Fusion that uses monsters and equip spells, that actually sounds pretty cool, too.

I watches this and your other Historys a few Times by now, and together with other Content i consumed, it got me thinking. It ws popular for some Time for Wrestling Channels, to either re-imagine or full Imagine Matches, and even full Tournaments. And i also saw that Idea applied to Movies, in particular for Marvel & DC. Just, you know, what someone with Hindsight, or a dedicated Fan, could have done to improve on what has originally been done. And well, that is my Idea; a Series about what you would have done, if Konami for some Reason would ask you to "repair" their Timeline for the Yugioh OCG/TCG.

I feel like you forgot the biggest innovation that Shaddolls made to fusion summoning. Having its materials let you get benefits from using them as fusion material. Because they all floated if used as fusion fodder, you would actually gain something, beyond whatever the boss monster brought to the table. As such, this was the first time you effectively had good fusion materials. Up to that point, Konami only ever improved the fusion spell and fusion monster, neglecting the material part of the equation.
@ether22752 жыл бұрын
That is very true indeed. One of the main reasons I loved Shaddolls is how the made the most minus out of all summoning methods by far suddently seem like the biggest plus ever. Back in the day Fusion summoning would mean you spent 3 cards (2 monsters, 1 spell) to get 1 card on the field which is very bad no matter how you see it. However, Shaddoll Fusion did not only make it better by using materials from the deck but also making the materials themselves have effects that you can plus from which literally turned the whole thing around. Not to mention Construct sending an extra card on summon and all the fusion monsters being able to recover cards after being sent to the grave. You can see such strategies being used even today with the Branded Despia cards getting effects when sent to the GY as fusion materials or in the case of tragedy it is a more general sort of search effect and Aluber having good usage in the GY. This is also why Shaddoll cards have stayed relevant to this day by being splashed into other good fusion decks such as Invoked, the Despia Branded strategy and now the Tearalement strategy.
@frankwest53882 жыл бұрын
@@ether2275 before Shaddoll, if you didn’t need specific names, you would only ever fusion summon unsung the least awful possible materials or the ones that were good anyways. Like Neos Alius and Bubbleman in Hero.

The best extra deck summoning mechanic is a bit of a stretch. Xyz and especially Links have it beat. They are both too generic and splashable compared to fusions and synchros although both Fusions and Synchros have made some sinificant leaps in terms of splashability in the recent years. Crystron Halq and Verte both helped the mechanics and of course stuff like the punk engine as well. Of course Fusions have gotten a significant boost overtime but it's clear to me that Links will forever be the best summoning method as it is the easiest and most generic, closely followed by Xyz.
@ismailcalsr22262 жыл бұрын
no, my favorite mechanic is also fusion but link and probably xyz have much higher potential. it's just that fusion mechanic has lost almost all of its restraints (hand&field and 3 card requirement it had in the beginning). we saw how powerful zoodiacs are because of their 1 card requirement and link 1 is still heavily restricted to 2-3 specific monsters. they are just buffing fusion enough to compete with other already op mechanics
@thefinalskarm17542 жыл бұрын
So two things regarding both Lunalight and Frightfur in the TCG, Multiple cards supporting these decks were Jump promo's in the OCG and NA regions, leading to them being completely unplayable during their original master rule. (Just like Lyrilusc but, that deck until led8 was always just nightingale ftk) The notable missing cards were Frightfur Patchwork and Lunalight Kaleido-Chick (who essentially facilitated the entire deck, there was also Crimson Fox). However it is very safe to say that MR3 was Fusion at it's peak with numerous strategies that are still playable to this day.

@@r4nd0mguy99 shaddoll are a bunch of extender with out a solid boss monster to go into, other than Winda. That mean you need to use it with other extender like Aleister or Mekknight, which can lend to inconsistent board setup.

@@Koscacio I thought as much. I definitely won't play Aleister. Invoked is a mistake. Mekknights might be fun, because they're pretty much the only deck that actually cares about card positions, although they tried to make it relevant with link monsters.

In the future, would it be possible for you to include a list of pieces you used in the description? Ideally with timestamps, but that work may not be worth it. I wasn't paying much attention to it (and I was watching at 2x speed), but some of what I noticed sounded interesting/possibly worth studying EDIT: Since I've already commented on this video, I may as well mention that it is very well scripted. The visual presentation is nothing special, of course, but it's exactly as good as it needs to be, and is just about as well-constructed as it could be without being swapped out for a different style of visuals altogether. WE RELEASED ANACONDA *entire playerbase leaves* And then konami will think "what did we do wrong?"

At least you can rest easy knowing that Anaconda is _never_ coming back. Konami might be incredibly incompetent at times, but they don't usually make the same mistake twice. That's not to say they cannot find another way to break the game, temporarily, in the meantime.
