The only person I can think of who might have been able to do a comparable job is Jeremy Irons, but they have similar voice qualities even though they are from different countries and I actually think they could do each other's characters very well. I think it would've been better to bring back Jeremy Irons in the live action lion King instead of James Earl Jones or in addition to him But if they couldn't get irons, JG Hertzler would have probably made an excellent Scar, much better than the guy they cast.

I’m quite sure that you have numerous planned videos, but I have suggestion or a potentially interesting lore topic. Due to the original series being cancelled before the characters could complete there titular five year mission, it has been left to beta sources to depict what that period looked like. I think it would be really interesting to see how different aspects of treks multimedia dealt with it, particularly the year four and five IDW comics that framed themselves as being the definitive take. Just an idea. Regardless, I’m sure that your videos will continue to be excellent.

Martok really is the best Klingon character ever. He reminds me of Gotrek (from Warhammer Fantasy) who _also_ couldn't earn a warrior's death, no matter what war he joined or monster he took on. He even survived the literal end of the world lol The actor is a cool guy too.

you can of course put whatever in your head canon that you want especially if it's not contradicted in actual canon but I would submit that just because his counterpart had a certain talent does not mean it reflects on him. The counterpart of all the other main cast members had characteristics that were similar but also characteristics that were different, so clearly not all of them would carry over to the people from the station that they represented.

Star Trek Online overdoes it with Martok, having the entirely of the Tzenkethi's job to make him look bad ass even though they are giant space rhinos. They do this with all the guest stars really. I expect if Barclay ever shows up he'll become a god.

I don't understand how Klingon houses are named. How was it the House of Martok before Martok was born? What was the House of Mog caller before Worf's father was born?
@MrMikellsof88
@MrMikellsof88 21 сағат бұрын
It's usually assumed that the House is named after the first head. Either that or it could change generation to generation, with Worf being an example of a Klingon who opted to retain his father's name on the house as a way of respect because Mogh because of the false allegations aimed at him over the Khitomer massacre. That said, I've seen it theorised that it's named after the CURRENT head of the house, and the house of Mogh was not renamed because Worf was unmarried, and then the house was un disgrace again because Gowron lost the plot, and then after Martok became Chancellor and Worf and Jadzia married, they ended up joining House Martok, thus finally dissolving the House for all time.
@skyborne80
@skyborne80 18 сағат бұрын
Also, Klingon families tend to re-use names A LOT. For example, Mogh is presumably the son of Colonel Worf, Kirk's lawyer in ST6. And ENT establishes an ancestor of TNG's Duras, also named Duras and son of Toral. Actually, I think I read that this was done behind the scenes to address this very issue.
@MrMikellsof88
@MrMikellsof88 18 сағат бұрын
@@skyborne80 Pretty sure Mogh's father was the Klingon that represented Kirk and McCoy during their Kangaroo Court trial after the assassination of Gorkon. Fitting that Michael Dorn played the role. Whether that was intentional at the time or not it was nice.

Worf is the most honorable Klingon, but Martok is likely the greatest Klingon. He's as good as it gets for a Klingon born and raised in the Empire in that time period. You can tell how great he is via his interactions with Nog. It's not just the big things, but the small things.

I don't think he was ever directly referenced. He may have been one of the people indirectly mentioned supporting Gowron but they did not mention many of them by name so there's probably a very loose connection at best. It would've been cool if they had had the foresight to namedrop him before deep space nine introduced him.
