Having built Monogram from the Late 60’s on…they were the best fitting and best overall quality kits for the money. Another brand that was good quality and oft overlooked is Hawk.

One of the first kits I ever made way back in the early 80's was a balsa and tissue kit. I think it was a Monogram kit, the aircraft was a Western Lysander, an unusual aircraft that was used for flying agents into France in WW2. I don't know if they have a plastic version but it may be worth a look. Interesting video brought back lots of memories seeing some of the models I've made over the years. My next project is a 1.48 Revell B24D which I'm converting into a RAF Coastal Command Liberator Mk 3a. Keep up the good work, it's important for us to keep the memories of these aircraft and the people who worked with them alive.

I don't think Monogram used laser cut balsa back in the old days.
