As much as I love the sister series Tekken as well, Soul Calibur is altogether too heavily underappreciated. I mean, I get that people punching each other to a knockout, or even being thrown into a volcano while unconscious and implied to have literal Supernatural ability and returning next year or so to fight again is more realistic to survive than even a basic Throw in Soul Calibur, but this series needed more love and care in general. 6 looks cool and all but, more like an upgraded version of 3, the last one I played, with more robust character creation for the sake of funny videos and online matches. Otherwise, I fear for the early death of this series when Tekken likewise has had several animated films, a spinoff or two (I put unhealthy amounts of time into Tag), and priority in having Kazuya in Smash we can see who the Red-Headed Stepchild is, obviously.

Gamecube here; I got it because it had Link as a guest character. would've gotten it on PS2 as well for Heihachi but that was what Best Buy had. Also got a terrible Robin Hood game that is, I am convinced, completely unwinnable, and Xenosaga on PS2 that day. Guess which ones brought me actual joy.😹

Actually from what I know, Night Terror isn't non-canon. Night Terror is a real being and the counterpart to Nightmare within the Astral Chaos. It's officially stated that Night Terror is so powerful that Algol actually fears the being. What IS non-canon however is Night Terrors appearance in the physical world, as Soul Edge has never full come together and if it did well... there'd be no more Soul Calibur universe.

I don't think Soul Edge automatically turns the user into Nightmare. The sword was used by lots of people before who didn't turn into him, Nightmare only started with Siegfried.

Never really noticed how heavily this series has been influenced by Berserk. Huh, how about that. Siegy's exactly the same as Guts, save for the whole wanting to resurrect his father/adoptive father bit, whereas Nightmare is the beast of Darkness. Probably why I liked this series so much growing up. It's fuckin metal as fuck.

Wow! The History Behind the Warrior finally did a soul caliber character. Nice presentation. However--I had read in one of Algol's origin stories. That the sword that became Soul Edge, was wielded by a murderous knight of unknown origin, who killed many with his blood-soaked sword. When he finally died in battle...at the hands of Algol, the soul of the knight became infused with the blade giving it its demonic aura. The name of Inferno was not mentioned. Then we go to the part of Algol's son, being possessed by the demonic blade, in which Algol was forced to kill his own son. I would elect Pyrrah as the next character to be profiled--who became one of the malfested, then the awesome Pyrrah.Omega. Failure to fulfill my request will result in me manifesting Soul Edge, and stealing your soul to satiate the sword's hunger. :)

One question for some reason I always thought about nightmare turning to inferno because when I play inferno he has a same exact move as devil Kazumi and devil Jin who actually teleport at the sametime when they attack the opponent and Jin,Kazumi,Kazuya,and especially nightmare they all turn to devils for some reason
