I built a ton of these AMT kits as a kid in the early 60s and had hours and hours of fun with them and dealer promos. I had a car lot and a junkyard, too. I remember the 32 Ford well. I built the coupe and the roadster, but don't recall the phaeton or 2-door sedan. If you wanted a coupe with side mounts ar a roadster with a rear mounted spare you could swap the fenders on these kits. The 36 Ford and 39-40 Ford kits were also tons of fun. I built mine basically stock but did put 40 Ford wheels on one of my roadsters. It's amazing even model kits are classics now.

Well done Sir, well done. I remember the first 32 I put together ( around 59-60, I'd have been 12-13 ) were molded in black, as I recall. Yeah I'd love to see a "newly tooled" 32, Coup, roadster, all of them.

Man that is taking a trip down memory lane for sure. I had a lot of these kits back in the day. If you noticed the boxes back then were thicker and were only held closed with tape. Guess that is why they changed then to easy to open and take parts out of them. Really enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing and making an old man feel even older. LOL!! Very good video. A few corrections are in order, however. The 1959 issue 32 Roadster was also a 3 in 1, including the drag version. The 32 Vicky was a completely new tool (as was the coupe), and its two initial box art versions you showed were the promo dealership version, followed by the regular AMT branded hobby shop release. The 1964 issue 32 Roadster was also available as a dealer promo version. The 32 Tudor sedan actually made its debut around 1964 as a custom-only version as part of a double kit with the 40 Willys Coupe. Like the Phaeton, the body was later combined with the Vicky running gear and fenders to create the Street Rods version. The red Boyd Coddington coupe is not an original AMT kit, but is a modified reissue of the old MPC "Switchers" kit. Stay tuned, as a future issue of Model Cars magazine will be presenting a full history of the AMT 1932 Ford Roadster kit with a detailed review of each version.

Very well thought out and presented video! Some models like the 32 Ford, or pick a year of Mustang or Camaro, get releases from several different model companies. I didn't realize that AMT themselves did so many different body styles of the deuce. Keep these vids coming, and the awesome build videos too!

Just did an inventory the other day. 58 of all models, especially the earlier with the side mount tires which they quit producing, switching to the plain fender, Have a 3 window also. Also have a couple in 'Dealer Box' that ford dealers handed out.

The only downside is that the body on all the original ‘32 kits was sectioned to allow it to fit the chassis when building fenderless. It makes it impossible to build a completely stock model, though of course most kids would have built it as a hot rod.

There was a Model A phaeton in 1:24 scale, which I built, but can't remember who made that one.
