i know some people shy away from mixing video games into historical events but i personally would say zelda ocarina of time was one of the bigger promoters for the ocarina and i personally believe it still is due to the game being such a iconic figure in pop culture and this is actually how i came to know of the ocarina

Thank you for this video! I had never been able to find much about the origin of the multichamber ocarina, so finding this information here was really cool. It's also so awesome that someone out there is helping to present ocarina information accurately, since so many people do little research and get confused about the different types😊

Congratulations on your beautiful and in-depth research on the ocarina. I live near Budrio in the province of Bologna, right where the classic ocarina was invented in the shape of a headless goose, by Giuseppe Donati, in fact ocarina in Italian, means small goose. Thanks for sharing, bravo!

I think this video should have included zelda Ocarina of time. I find it amazing how so many people know about the Ocarina from a game and how its continued its history.

Wow! Fascinating video. I play recorder and am learning tabor pipe and tin whistle, so this is one member of the fipple flute family I had the least knowledge of. Thanks

One of my favorites tidbits of ocarina history! If it werent for that, the 12 hole style may have not been developed in Asia :)

Thanks! This one is a vintage Prima alto C from the 1970s - about 50 years old now. It is no longer available, but there are still modern versions of the instrument under the brand name Aketa.
