Alistair Smythe fascinated me, at least the 90s animated series version, so it's nice to be able to see his (and his father's) comic book history! He really did have that 90s edgelord look to his Ultimate Spider Slayer form.

My favorite thing about Smythe: having tracked a hat to someone with a personal connection to MJW, his first thought was "Oh MJW is Spider-Man," and not "Huh. This might be a either a dead end or a degree of separation." Love that for him😊

I love the Spider Slayers. They are such an ingenious concept that works perfectly as antagonists against Spider-Man. This is an incredible recap of their history, so it goes without saying that you are doing a truly marvelous work here!

That Mk 10 design is just another perfect example of 90s excess. From standard humanoid shapes to a more arachnid style, and then an Alien mixed with a Swiss army knife!

The 90's Spider-Slayer saga was when I jumped into collecting Spider-Man. Mark Bagley did some amazing designs of those things, including Allistair Smythe's Spider-Slayer armor. Speaking of Allistair, his initial appearance made him look like Jack Black on a bad day, then looked as though he STARVED himself, and then hit the gym when the 90s came around. I know he has issues but Jesus, dude you thought MARY JANE WATSON was Spider-Man?!?! Wow.

Wasn't that just in Amazing S-M 2, just a few appearances in elevators and called by name once? He didn't seem to be anything like Smythe, and I didn't realize it was him until I rewatched the movie sometime recently. Anyway, my real introduction to the character was the Amazing Spider-Man game.

If I’m honest, I think the Smythes and all their robots are the worst Spider-Man villains. Worse than Gibbon, Mirage, Slyde, the Enforcers, Kangaroo, all of them, are better than the slayers
