125 rating gap between Fischer and world #2 Spassky!!! So many Fischer haters out there but the things he accomplished will never be repeated again including his 20 game win streak against the world best players, winning his first US Championship at age 14/15 and winning the '63/'64 US Championship with a perfect 11-0 score! Keep in mind that FIDE elo ratings were established in 1971 and Fischer was already the best player in the world for several years before there was a rating. Imagine Carlsen winning elite events with perfect scores and sweeping his best competition 6-0 as Fischer did in the Candidates. Not even the great Kasparov could achieve such a feat. Unthinkable!

People hate him because he was a terrible human being. The fact that he was one of the most phenomenal chess talents in history is irrefutable. That being said with computers and theory where they are, it is pretty unlikely that Fischer's feats will be repeatable. So many tournament games end in theoretical draws. If Fischer were born today, there's no doubt he'd still be an amazing talent but he definitely wouldn't be 6-0ing candidates. I remember Hikaru watching some top games from the era and literally noticing blunders from some of the top 10 players that were regarded as brilliant moves at the time. One of Tal's games iirc. The level of play has gone up an insane amount

@@ap282928292829 . Its possible that in today's age Fischer's 6-0 feats wouldn't be possible. But Fischer was also a theoretician, meaning that he improved existing theory, and given his intense obsession with chess I wouldn't put it past him to sweep the competition from time to time. Human chess today still has lots of room for improvements, hence chess engines, and I don't think we've seen the best that humans can offer in chess. Also, this might sound unpopular, but I would disregard what Hikaru has to say about players of the past as he stands on their shoulders in terms of knowledge. Its easy to criticize people for being less knowledgeable 50 years ago. If you truly want to learn from the players of the past the best thing to do is to buy some game collection books by the great champs of the past and go through their games with the assistance of the book annotations and a chess engine. You'll develop much greater appreciation of those games and you'll quickly realize that Hikaru or even Carlsen's opinion of those players is irrelevant.

@@ap282928292829 He was a great human being. He took the redpill about how the world works and who's behind the money and power. Said some 'outrageous' (true) things that have recently come to light more and more. He never went 'insane'. He just knew the truth about many things that most other around him were totally oblivious to. He'll always be remembered as a legend in my eyes. In and out of chess. He spoke for what is true and right.

@@SuhasPai I disagree about "better music" but agree it could be a little quicker.

@@SuhasPai . Ignore absurd recommendation. Making it faster (and I assume the OP wants something with a fast tempo) makes the visual harder to follow the chart.
