The Qualis was the first Toyota to be officially launched in India and this MPV was a massive hit before the Innova arrived. The Toyota Qualis was offered with multiple variant options and it had 8- and 10-seater configurations too. The Toyota Qualis was sold from 2000 to 2005 in India post which the Innova was introduced in our market.

We owned the Qualis for over 16yrs and our car had run 4.5lakh kms when we sold it..despite there were no major issues throughout its life. It was very reliable and although didnt have modern features but it had the basics right and I found it really fun to drive.

Toyota qualis had diesel engine in the varient RS (royal saloon) which had more features than GST. U said that RS were bull shit, But reality is RS varient has more resale value than others now in our market and most of them are even well maintained.Thanks motorbeam for making a vdo about qualis🤩

Back in the day my father bought the qualis RS (Royal saloon) and i have to say it was amazing on highways and was quite luxurious and comfortable weirdly, People used to look all over it like it was a very expensive car since it was driven by politicians, film stars and buisness mens. It was indeed an amazing vehicle.

In my country Indonesia, this car called as "Kijang Kotak" (Boxy Kijang) and some people called it "Kijang Doyok" (Doyok is a comic character in a newspaper, this car called doyok because this car very skinny, like Doyok the comic character), produced in 1970's to mid 1990's But today, if you indian visit indonesia, you can see the "Qualis" or "Kijang Kotak" still used for Angkot (Indonesia local mass Tranport, like Phillipine "Jeepney") and this car is still usep by some building material shop, and also still using by retro car enthusiast
