Born in 1989. Gotta say that even though games now days are a lot more "interactive" with achievements and customization... Unreal and Unreal tournament along with other classic games such as Tribes hold a solid place in my heart.

Zova Shaman , Heck yeah ! And Tribes!! Don't know about Tribes releases on PC but servers were made to keep online play available for Tribes: Aerial Assault on PS2 at least for NTSC-U versions. Copies here run $2-5 USD. Otherwise, there's still PS2 LAN multiplayer over the internet using XLink Kai for connecting PS2s as well. That latter option opens up a gateway to about 55 other titles aside from the support for PS2 online / netplay of about 70 titles.

UT2004 has a better aesthetic than UT3. It is more colorful and there is better contrast in the environment. In UT3 the LOD diminishment is quite noticeable for distant scenes, which actually makes the graphics look unbalanced.

UT99 was freakin awesome, played it hour after hour well into the night, sometimes 10 hours straight and got me to a pretty elite level. Used to use battlecom back in the day with headsets to play CTF with my clan. I then found Last Man Standing and that was my all time favourite because everyone started with equal health and weapons so it was purely down to the skill of the player and not what weapon or health you had. I know Deathmatch required its own skill to know the map and time the power-ups but with DM once you had the shield and armour covered you could essentially control the map and win the match quite easily, that's why I preferred LMS. I knew every single LMS map inside out and every (including the glitched ones) hiding place you could possibly find, absolutely brilliant times that I really miss. p.s. If you're an OG of UT99 you'll know the light texture code you could put in as a skin to make yourself invisible and also the one to make your whole skin black, really fun times!!!

i was a cft guy and never into fast dm or last man standing or the bizmmo dom or hacked assault maps - i did also map veriation with maps i disliked and sent them to a clan as"impoved veriosion " like cft-3tower )r( version - was it 4 - 5 slightly impoved - i did go to a 6 version but.. you know why make more for a a shrinking playedbase and clanserver shut down.

I never liked FPS games, but I gave UT GOTY a shot and now I'm kinda addicted. I play only on levels from skilled to masterful but still have lots of fun. I admire people on multiplayer games, they have insane skills. I'm mostly dying there but well... fun is fun

Unreal 2 is my favorite game of all games in existence. Unreal saga is epic, UT 99 is very good, but I prefer UT 2004 because it is more complete and much more entertaining in all aspects. UT 2003 isn't even worth mentioning it, it's a piece of shit failure. UT2007 is just worth mentioning it because it marks a revolution in computer graphics but that's all, game is a shit, worst than UT2003.

I started playing it because I am getting burnt out of gaming, and can hardly keep my attention on any title without being bored. As a old unreal player and having had all unreal games except the championships, ut3 was such a mega let down. Unreal is heading far too much for a visual game compared to a fps. I know its epics showcase game but come one whatever happened to the guys who said it was originally a game designed that they themselves would enjoy. here's to hoping ut4 will be better once the modding community takes over.

+Nemanja Mikic played a little bit, not much for the place holders and speed of the game. Its like most fps series except quake. every new game seems to be slower movements, take counter strike for example. cs1.6 was a real fast fps, then css was slow compared to 1.6 and now cs:go feels like a snails pace compared to css. I'm sure a lot will be fine tuned at a later date but ehhh wasn't so bad i guess.

+Flea Bitten cs:go is more about tactics and strategizing, not fast paced. i think cs:go is far more evolved in terms of realism and overall gameplay quality, you do realize that the world championships and pretty much every major cs:go game has almost 1 million viewers on twitch alone, they show some of the games on tv in finland atleast :D

I did watch a few championships but i grew up on counter strike source so my view is pretty biased. cs.16>css>cs:go. cs:go felt like a polished turd from css.

Counter Strike uses hitscan instead of projectile based bullets... a game that uses hitscan WILL N E V E R have better "gameplay quality" over one that doesn't. It's the most unrealistic hit detection system ever to disgrace the FPS genre. An lol CS does not require more strategy than unreal, nor skill... It's a slower game with worst gameplay and worst players.
