Surely you know this, and yet you take the time to go into every detail you can possibly find, crafting each video to be a definitive source. The research must at ti.es be frustrating and exhausting. Perhaps mentioned in previous episode, the Eibar manufacturers were copyist of the first order. I believe Spanish patent law, at least at that time, honored patents if the patented firearm was made in Spain, so knocking off Belgian, French, US, and so on, designs was legal in that sense. I'll guess with France's need for firearms, patent law would be either ignored or circumvented. I have also heard this even applied to the name "Star" which sounded much like "Steyr".
