Comedy Central made a huge mistake cancelling this show. Sure, it was because of the pandemic, but they had already filmed all the storytellers and were just about to start filming the reenactments, which is not cool.

Another cool fact about Hedy is she also worked on the very early stages of the technology that would later become LTE (Long Term Evolution) that stuff that allows us to use our phones and laptops and tablets and everything today. She said she learned about it by sitting in meetings with her husband trying to just “look pretty and act dumb” all while listening and learning and using it to advance her work. Total badass

Looking pretty and acting dumb, funnily enough, was also a tactic of Hughes himself to get information he otherwise wouldn’t because he often appeared intimidating. He would knowingly make incorrect claims so people would correct him with real information.

Thank you Hedy…I’d never talk to anyone without an ear piece. Obviously wireless… Nothing I can’t stand more than having to talk on the phone but if I do there is no way I want to actually have to hold that phone against my face to speak into it. Thank you so very very much

Heddy helped create radio high speed frequency burst transmissions. That meant taking a long message, and sending it in a micro-second so the enemy couldn't catch or read it.

@@michaelterrell5061Two things are true. The Navy did not use her design, perhaps because they didn't understand how useful it could be or didn't have the technology to advance it. They stole her patent and labeled it top secret, assuming it was possibly even a trick from a spy. So instead she raised $25 Million in war bonds - $343 Million in today's dollars.

@@veggigoddess To be fair, in Capone's time, STD treatments weren't just a shot of penicillin (which wasn't as widely available before WWII) they were painful treatments. Perhaps he avoided them because sometimes people being treated for venereal diseases were seen as outcasts by society.

🌟😇🤣😂😎☝️A wonderfully GENIUS concept that had its moments, BUT 🤢👎💩🤦🏻‍♀️😝 sorry Comedy Central: painstakingly omitting the swear words is mainstream, uptight hubris bullshit~takes the crucial humor & spontaneity right out if it, FFS! Gotta find another place to watch the REAL deals, like on Netflix?!

Except unlike Netflix this here is being presented for free, which means Comedy Central is probably counting on video monetisation to pay for this - because someone somewhere has to pay for this, which means to qualify for monetisation they have to (kinda) cut the swears - though you can still hear exactly what's being said. So you can either get this free version with some half-assed bleeps, or you can watch the whole thing with swear words by paying a streaming channel. Either works. But it's not cool to shout at the people giving us free stuff if this is the only way they can do it.
