Recent studies on Tree Rings have been correlated with large Alaskan Volcanoes that are postulated to have caused massive drought in Egypt and the Levant and Greece from shifts in monsoons from extended La Niña patterns.

Sustainability scientist here, who was actually working at IUCN Asia when KPK in Pakistan passed its Billion Tree Tsunami goal. This is an absolutely fantastic documentary IMO, with its emphasis on the resilience of communities being a factor in how devastating a natural disaster will be. The examples are excellent, and the explanations of how various factors -- including over-development of river systems -- compound to create a greater disaster than it would have been otherwise I thought were very clear. Obviously it's hard to go into great detail in a 50 minute documentary, but I thought a lot of the complexity was well-conveyed, especially with the Mozambique example. That one, specifically, really starkly shows how human and planetary health are inextricably linked, and multiple compounding problems quickly have results that are way worse than just the sum of their parts. Really, really good, and I will be looking more deeply into the Pakistan and Mozambique floods as public health, resilience, and sustainability case studies.

When we have to pay for knowledge, the knowledge is lost to those who don't know how to use it. Just know how to make money off it. And the population suffers.

those countries like Pakistan should educate their populations so that they will not be ignorant to what deforesting the land can cause. Activities of humankind can impact the environment to the point of causing floods to be worse. But I do not believe that burning fossil fuels cause climate change. The climate has always been changing and will continue to change foever no matter what humans do.

One example after another.. we do not have enough food for five our children... Sure, lets make another eight.. 🤦🤮 Condoms can really save milions. Nature loves balance and will always tend to keep it, one way or another. Animal population can only grow if resources are abundant. People should learn.

I spent a few days in Pakistan in 1977 en route to Indla from Afghanistan. It was crowded, filthy, and the people were rude assholes (most Muslims are). By far the worst country I've been to. Watching this, I can't feel much sympathy.

These things are true, but they are costly, and many areas lack resources. Hopefully wealthier countries like mine (and maybe yours?) will look into assisting with prevention instead of only coming in to assist when disaster has already occurred, but that requires educating voters on the global benefits.
