I used to work on that station! There used to be a tourist railway running down the tracks, for these were the old railtracks that lead to the local coal mines in the area! A couple of years ago, the railway closed down due to a lack of local subsidies. The rail carriages you see in the middle, used to be the cantine for the people that worked there. It's sad to see in how bad a state it was, but it's nice to see that it's still being used to this day.

I was an extra in the film production of " Gettysburg". Took part in the " Picketts Charge". Little over a week, early rise in the morning, " hurry up and wait". Had to sffer the application of grime and sweat. It was a hot march to the battle and there was no time to clean back then.

Do you happen to be part of a reenactment group somewhere in Belgium? I'm slowly assembling a uniform too (already have an M40 Stahlhelm although with early SS insignia's on it) and I want to do it a little more justice than wear it only a few times a year

I have a question. I'm getting into WW2 German Reenacting and a lot of people have told me to use an original helmet. But I have an original helmet and It's an M40 Single decal I was going to restore it but there is some original paint and you can still see some of the decals. But on the other hand, It's really rusty and it already started pitting and the owner before me painted the inside of the shell with this awful green color. Should I restore the helmet? I was asking you because I did not really want to destroy history but before I begin restoring it I wanted to ask you.

Don’t restore it. Especially when you can still see original paint and decals. Restoring a pitted shell in itself is a horrible idea. Just try and get rid of the post war paint eith acetone and preserve the shell.

Ik kan het niet helpen maar ik word telkens een beetje jaloers wanneer ik jouw videos bekijk. Ik zou namelijk zelf dolgraag willen beginnen met historisch reenactment (beide wereldoorlogen, maar ik heb vooral interesse in de Wehrmacht). Ik ben echter bang dat ik er naar eigen zeggen te onrealistisch uitzie voor een soldaat in een wereldoorlog, ik ben namelijk twee meter lang en vrij breed gebouwd, waar soldaten in verreweg de meeste gevallen aan de dunne kant waren haha (en daarnaast ben ik vooralsnog te arm voor een hobby als deze, jammer genoeg). Vandaar dat ik jouw video's zo leuk vind; ik heb vaak het gevoel dat ik er in persoon bij ben.
