Fun fact; the Jin Dynasty was killing itself in court intrigue immediately after the Fall of Wu and disintegrated into a resumed civil war (this time among themselves) in less than a decade, resulting in China being split into 16 different kingdoms as more warlords and foreign invaders took over, so this period of Chinese history never actually stopped until centuries later. It took until the Tang Dynasty for sanity to return.

Some tidbits: Zhang Jue wasn't just a "wizard", he was a faith healer, that was part of his appeal to the peasantry. He Jin was a butcher(a literal butcher of meat, to be clear) who was thrust into such a high position because his sister was the Empress. Dong Zhuo probably didn't just find the Emperor, what's more likely is that he caught the eunuchs trying to smuggle the Emperor out of Luoyang. Sun Jian and his family are supposedly descendants of Sun Tzu, the author of The Art of War. A minor warlord of this time, Kong Rong, was a 20th generation descendant of Confucius. Lu Bu killed his own adoptive father to join Dong Zhuo. Dong Zhuo in turn adopting him was just tempting fate. Before joining Cao Cao, Emperor Xian fled captivity from the remnants of Dong Zhuo's forces while they were in the midst of a power struggle. Huang Gai came up with the idea of the false surrender-fire stratagem at Red Cliffs because he saw Cao Cao had his ships chained together, possibly in an attempt to alleviate sea sickness among his northerner troops who weren't used to being on boats. Sima Yi was recruited by Cao Cao in the year 208 CE, same year as the battle of Red Cliffs. Just think it's funny to note that Cao Cao's greatest defeat happened the same year he recruited the man who would ultimately usurp his descendant's authority. I was gonna try and list all the Emperors or Rome for reference down here, but then I remembered what century this was. So I'm just gonna simplify it to: from Commodus to Probus

This warring period is quite possibly one of the bloodiest wars in human history in terms of population percentage if you factor it all in under one umbrella conflict. The casualties in these Asian wars are insane as well as how little is known about them in the west. It is important to note however historians have lately attributed a sizeable chunk of the actual population losses to census data being destroyed which helps better explain the population explosion that happened soon after.

People have pointed it out in other reactions and such but as the military was killing the eunuchs, Alois Hitler was up on the stairs in the background, punishing a eunuch severely

I mean, they’re warlords, not peacelords. What else would they do?

Ive also seen and read a few sources that say lu bu and this "concubine" were siblings or related in one way or another by blood. So it seems she might have existed but may or may not have played such a pivotal role. But it does make for a much better story imo

Diaochan was the name of the girl and she was not related to Lu Bu. She was actually a temptress in many ways, she used her looks to fool men quite often. Oversimplified didn't really get into her story.

The official record is that she existed but doesn’t give her a name or any sort of lineage.

current news does not equal past history... especially not about a country like China. Most people have limited news of China due to its firewall
