I saw short video where one of the Ukrainian soldier scream "bandera" from UPA true hero for some of them, they murdered Poles in past. History likes to repeat. Poles should help but under conditions. Volhynian slaughter - genocide perpetrated by Ukrainian nationalists with the active, frequent support of the local Ukrainian population against the Polish minority of the former Volyn voivodeship of the Second Polish Republic, during the occupation of the territory of the Second Polish Republic by the Third Reich, in the period from February 1943 to February 1945.

Since I've read Siekiewitz I've been in love with this land, it's traditions and it's amazing, but also tragic history. The help they are now giving to Ukraine only strenghten my love for them. The Poles are a brave and generous people. And what a difference when it comes to refugees. The Ukrainian men stay and fight for their country, while the women and children are fleeing. From Afghanistan and Somalia for example, the young men fled leaving their families to be killed.
@johannageisel5390

The military situation in Afghanistan or Somalia is different to the clear cut situation in Ukraine, where there is a clear aggressor and a clear victim. Civil wars are always very messy. And the men do not "leave their families to be killed", but rather, they take the dangerous and exhausting trip to a safe country upon themselves with the hope that they can bring their families there via plane after receiving asylum. If the flight is also life-threatening and very dangerous for women and children, then families have to make very harsh decisions. They might also not have enough money for all of them to go at once. You are judging people without knowing their situation.

They still won't admit it and they lie that they didn't. And the truth is different, a film was made about this genocide, moreover, American production. Under the guise of Turkey, it conducts 'mediation talks' between Russia and Ukraine, and in fact it wants to start another war itself. As I write this, the Imagine Dragons song "Love" pops into my head. I suggest you to listen because it's what I'm talking about now. How they fought like lions alongside the allies, Polish pilots joined the RAF and proved themselves as fantastic brave and outstanding pilots. As an EU member Poland does not hesitate to send help if needed as they did in 2018 when Sweden suffered from devastating forest fires. Then Lukashenko/Putler tried to push illegal immigrants to cross the border from Belarus into Poland, but that did not work. Poland holds the border very strong. And now when the two criminal autocrats attack Ukraine, the Polish people do absolutely everything they can and much more to help the refugees! Polish people, I don´t think we ever will forget this. Yes lots of christians in Poland with lots of empathy when it comes to white Slavic neighbors and taking in their wife's whilst they fight to the death for your freedom. However the empathy isn't for people from other parts of the world. They are a different kind of human after all.

@@jakebrake9404 Poland is free to take in whoever they want if they aren't part of a union. However since Poland is part of the EU and EU borders there are other responsibilities and pledges they've made about helping people in need, refugees etc which they've fought tooth and nail over the past years not to uphold. Don't claim empathy, heroism and knowing how it feels from world war 2 when theres hardly anyone even alive from the actual world war and when you've shown time and time again that you don't care about the suffering of others and to actually help them. You are not judged by how you treat your family, friends and neighbors but how you treat actual strangers. You treat them horribly or exclude them. You've taken in refugees on the equivalent of the tiny island Malta.

@@gregor8415 Poland isn't interested in dealing with the same problems that every other country in europe that has taken in muslim refugees has had to deal with. The Poles (and others) have made that perfectly clear to the EU. Smart move by the Poles. Stupid idea by the countries who decided to take 'em in. Poland is an independent Christian nation. If they don't want to become an Islamic state... That's their right. They don't need anyone else's permission. They don't need to take Ukrainian refugees either. They chose to do it. Too bad that it offends you. NOTHING you can do about it. If it concerns you so much, you take 'em in.

Most of Us doesn't expect support from our government. It's not about Us. Now Ukrainians are at most need, and I'm Happy to say that Our government is doing extreamly good job helping Them. They will get our national registration number so called PESEL they will be able to stay here as long as they want, get a Job and even start a buisness. And even our national TV started to AIR children TV shows in Ukrainian language. As I said, it's not about Us.

It's worth noting that Poles help Ukrainians, despite the fact that in Ukraine there are monuments to Ukrainian chauvinists who committed genocide on Jews and Poles during World War II - mainly in Volhynia region. All the more, the charity of Poles should be appreciated.

@@nbudzinski. Indeed. If the Ukrainian side were honest with Polish-Ukrainian relations, today the Kremlin propaganda would have no support in reality, which, unfortunately, it does have. Which also harm the polish groups and sociates, who are talking about this topic from ALWAYS. In a propaganda war, the first victim is the truth. Talking about the facts and historical truth hasn't become SUDDENLY now uncomfortable for politics or haters in that painful history. It has always been uncomfortable. There has been a conspiracy of silence for a long time covering the genocide that Ukrainian chauvinists committed on defenseless Polish people during the Second World War. Currently, the topic is depreciated as "Russian propaganda" because that's how Ukrainian propaganda show it from many years vide: Volodymyr Viatrovych) After 2014, there was a war between the monuments of Bandera and Lenin in Ukraine. But from the Polish perspective, it has a completely different dimension. Both monuments are monuments to malefactors. I'm afraid You are also involved in distorting reality bcs You say that it was a long time ago that you need reconciliation. But on what price? Ukrainian lies & polish amnesia? Is that a good attitude? It is now that the Poles have shown that there are no best friends for Ukrainians than they are. And even more - Ukrainians and Poles are very kindred nations! It's the Ukrainians turn now who should show goodwill: stop lying and reject sadistic murderers as their false heroes. And you know what the Poles want? That the bones of the victims were allowed to be buried, the bones of the victims on which the monuments of their murderers almost literally stand in Ukraine. Until that happens there is no "closure to the past" Btw. Tell the Jews to forget about the Holocaust and stop talking about genocide because it was only a long time ago.
