I've always thought Motaro was an awesome character. To me, especially when i was a kid, he was for sure the coolest and scariest depiction of a centaur i'd ever seen. I can understand why they they can't bring him back as a playable character, but it'd be cool to see him return as a sub boss at some point and just have x-rays/fatal blows and fatalities not work on him. Have beating him trigger a death cinematic like with Kronika. At least give him a cooler send off than Raiden killing him in the background lol

It was because for some reason, the video game designers could not find a way to make a character with four legs move properly, that's why they had him be a minotaur in Armageddon. Hopefully, their technology has evolved better, and they might be able to bring Motaro back in a new game. We can only keep our fingers crossed.

Centaur Motaro could have definitely worked in the new games and maybe even MK9. The first thing people talk about is the X-ray moves and others like throws not being able to work on his model. The solution to this, for instance with x-rays, is to give one or two pre-canned x-ray moves that only happen to Motaro. Basically all the characters share that x-ray that happens to Motaro. Same with throws, a unique throw against Motaro that all the characters share.

Honestly. I can understand why they can't do his original design for the games. Not only do I imagine coding that body type to fit the screen perfectly would be an absolute pain in the ass and push back production by a lot, it doesn't seem like there would be many ideas for a moveset or anything. It annoyed me that the reason Motaro became a Minotaur wasn’t because it was where the storyline naturally flowed towards, but because they couldn’t figure out how to do a character sprite for Motaro when they developed the game, so they had to come up with an in-game excuse for him having 2 legs. Like it just bugs me that it was technical game issues that dictated something that significant.

They should bring back Motaro. They now have the technology to make him work within the game. Imagine how bad ass would his reveal be.

it would be hard to make him playable as 4 legged because of x ray and fatal blows would look really weird, it's better to bring him back as 2 legged with fatal blows or x ray, or unless non playable 4 legged sub boss without fatal blows or x ray, those are the only 2 options.

@Black_Wolf1357 He needs to be a centaur. I think the best thing for them to do is just make it to where certain moves don’t work on him because he’s so big. Makes sense.

Only thing that really turned me off was when they turned him from a centaur to a minotaur with no explanation. Even a cheap on like a child motoro saying minotaurs was children of the centaur and a human. Anything but nope he is now a whole other animal
