Eh, in all honesty, Mileena's reign was more like inflicting as much pain as possible to everyone around her so as to give them an idea of what she is feeling after she woke up in the new timeline. But yeah, she wasn't the best ruler, though if some people actually treated her decently instead of just outright either trying to kill her or essentially treat her as a replacement which then makes her want to prove herself and then fail every time then maybe she would've actually have been a bit different, cause let me just say that controlling one's bloodlust while not easy is actually possible.

So each of the Khans Reigns reflect the Realms in the MK Universe Shao Khan- Outworld Mentality (since he'd ruled Outworld so long that it was pretty much considered the Norm) Mileena- Chaosrealm Mentality (no real direction just a bloodthirsty tyrant mad with power and not afraid to show it) Kotal- Order realm (A society based on Justice with harsh punishments for disrupting the "Laws of the Land") Kitana- Edenia Mentality (peaceful and merciful rule with the goal of uniting ALL of the Citizens of the realm)

I liked the retcon that Kahn is a title. If Shao is the fallen protector of Outworld, then like Raiden, Argus, even the old comics gods of Chaos and Order never had more than a single name. So Shao is his name and Kahn is the title he took. Maybe he stole is from Onaga Kahn as his last insult.

Even if it didn't, it would be an easy fix. Prince Goro implies other royalties kept their titles despite becoming under Shao Kahn's rule. Kahn = Ruler of outworld, even when there is no other realms absorbed. Emperor = Ruler of Outworld with the merged realms because ego. Plenty of rulers have multiple titles. That he's Emperor wouldn't erase Kahn as a title too if they wanted.

Current Earth IS Earthrealm, Heaven exists (where the Titans, Elder Gods, and Gods reside), Nether Realm IS a universal HELL for ALL realms, Reptile's Saurian home world is basically Pangea (Earth before the extinction of the dinosaurs, since the Sauron people are basically humanoid dinosaurs), etc. The only things not existing in reality are time travel & the various races that aren't deities or mortal humans (Shokan, Centaurs/Minotaurs, Tarkatan, etc.).

Furthermore, there's a glaring character plot hole regarding Kotal Khan specifically & that's the fact that the Osteck culture (basically a society that was either directly inspired by or else, had in itself been a prevailing influence upon the ancient Mayan & Ican civilizations, as well as responsible for the demise of the Aztecs due to the disease the Aztecs got from devouring the hearts of their enemies) he came from (aspects from which he had taken in as part of his rulership of Outworld, as indicated by his soldiers wearing Osteck ceremonial battle gear headdresses) already had Kotal Khan's father KOTAL Keitz (sp?) as their ruler before he was slain by the Shokan prince Goro (in retaliation for the new ruler of Outworld himself killing Goro's father King Gorback in the MKX comics after Kotal Khan had used blood magic to beat Goro in battle, thereby humbling him by letting him live without his four arms, but all this did was publicly embarrass the Shokan king by rendering his only surviving son now ineligible to take his place in the eyes of the Shokan race, which resulted in Sheeva taking the seat of power for herself instead, much to Goro's chagrin as he was forced to leave in order to find a way to restore his former legacy by regaining his four arms), which begs the question as to what IS Kotal Khan's TRUE name? The reason for this question is because the Osteck ruler of Outworld only seems to have 2 titles as his name rather than a character name & a leadership title suffix like Shao KAHN before him (again, discounting Mileena's temporarily hold over Outworld, since she called herself KHANUM instead of just KHAN) or even KItana KHAN for only a short time after him (this being, of course, before the former Princess of Edenia was obviously forced to abdicate the throne once she had become a Nether Realm revenant or had become the new Keeper of Time alongside Fire Lord Liu Kang following the defeat of the Titan of Time Kronika, her Elder God children Cetrion & Shinook, and their perpetually resurrected manservant Geras), since his father, Keitz, had KOTAL as his title & the preceding and proceeding rulers of Outworld had KHAN as their title, so what exactly IS Kotal Khan's actual GIVEN name?

We don't know much about Mileena's rule. Where is the proof that she was a tyrant? In game she was taken out of the throne cuz she didn't want an alliance with Earthrealm. Later in her rebelion Edenians, Tarkatans and even shokan sided with her (Why do this if she was such a lunatic?) While Kotal only had the oshteks, ONE kytin, ONE saurian, Erron and Ermac (who betrays Mileena for no reason, he should have sided with a construct like himself)

Why would they bother making Kitana Outworld’s new Kahn if her reign wouldn't make it through the same game? Besides, as of the end of the Aftermath, Kitana Kahn’s lover Liu Kang now holds the hourglass. How could he not restore Kitana to Outworld’s throne? I look forward to Kitana Kahn’s reign in MK12
