Excellent window into King James’ Lawful absolutism vs his sons’ arbitrary absolutism.

Thank you for posting. The eloquent and concise writing of James I/VI and the reading by James Parsons gave me a better understanding of how James I kept his throne and his son Charles I did not.

@@lionboii572" [Quran's Lesson - Surah Al-Baqara: 02, Verse: 165] “...they would certainly realize that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is indeed severe in punishment.” " - and ; the Divine Rule of Kings is folly and meaningless (self-righteous) if the ruler is arrogant and their actions do not comply with love/Allah for the ruler's people, for which he or she was trusted with power. Additionally for Christians, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9) - furthermore Worldy power is irrelevant ; it's a person's heart and character, not their influence which counts.
