The Battle of Zeeland (1940) continued after the German invasion of the Netherlands was over. With the Dutch surrender on May 15, 1940 the Battle of the Netherlands was over. However, this did not apply for Zeeland. In the early phase of WWII in the Netherlands the Dutch and the French fought side by side against the invading Germans. This is a unknown episode of World War II in the Netherlands. This is a forgotten WWII battle.
