Armwrestling looks like a circus when Devon is competing. He yells and screams in fights with every ref. Do you really think ESPN or any major coverage? We want to think of Armwrestling as a real sport when you got guys acting like idiots. It’s WWE now. The only one making money with the circus act is Devon and he doesn’t care what he does to the sport as long as he’s cashing in. That’s why he would never see Devon in a WAF match, because none of that nonsense would be put up with, and he be fouled immediately. In WAF you can’t even yell at the refs. Do you want to say you guys aren’t fanboys but yet you support this which is not going to promote the sport in the long term it’s just going promote Devon to continue to act silly. Arm wrestler to arm wrestler is whatever, they know there are lines crossed and deal with it on the table. The only ethics I have a problem with, even if I like watching him arm wrestler, is how he is with the refs. They need to get a grip and control the match, if they can't, they shouldn't be reff'ing any of his matches. Most go 20-25 minutes, his are 45-60 minutes from all the fuss, start and stops.

Devon likes to get into his opponent's head, sure I get that. But not all good competitors are in the sport to play the psychological game. I think there needs to be some regulation on verbal conduct at the table. Armwrestling has now taken a new approach with the best out of 5 matches or so which this type of conduct adds to the hype, almost like a boxing match or ufc fight. The old tournament style competitions need to be more respectful

Devon has a huge advantage over most other arm-wrestlers when he humiliates them - including Espey, and he can turn hoards of people against them with his words. Even during the build-up and aftermath of Devon's match with John, many Devon fans were seething with hate for John. It was horrible to read and true, Espey has a lot less popularity or fame than John. But that is what makes his position even more vulnerable than John's. And John let it roll off of him, but he did find it hugely embarrassing to be told he had "nothing" during that match. So, I actually don't side with Devon on as he sits there felling sorry for himself and sharing with all his fanboys. I do like Devon and would like to interview him, but perhaps my main question would be; "Why do you feel the need to humiliate other people? Is it part of your PTSD from your time in the army?"
