As a 70 year old Ford enthusiast, who has test driven Fords since 2021, and learned to drive in a Ford product a lot of you haven seen, a 1952 Mercury Monterey, I think this is a miss. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge RTR fan! Having said that, NO manual, possible $55K-plus price tag?! It's not just a miss, it's a strikeout! Mustangs use to be the low price leader, especially in the Fox body days of 5.0, manual trans, maybe a radio, then hit up the aftermarket and GO! Now, with no American competition in the market(how many of you ever thought a Mustang would be mentioned as a competitor to ANY BMW?!), not offering a manual in every Mustang, save the Mach-E, just makes no darn sense!! Seriously?!😮 I will say it again, hit the used car market, find and build your own personal expression, and leave tge new ones for "the idle rich" looking for future investment, not a car to drive and enjoy. I am looking for a black 2016 GT Premium, manual or auto, for the one year only hood mounted turn signals, a 2011-2017 Cyclone V-6, because they abandoned it to make the Ecoboost stand out(that engine debuted with an underrated 305 horsepower, got 31MPG Highway and I personally scored 33MPG on Michigan Highway at 65-79 MPH, thank you very much, and ask yourself WHY? that drop in horsepower and MPG as soon as the Ecoboost hit the market, because I tested a 2016 manual, and got the same quarter mile times and gas mileage as the 2011-14 Cyclone engine).....and I wouldn't minda 2013-14 GT with a Steeda package and Magnaflow Touring Exhaust(yeah, I know, not a loud enough exhaust for most of you, but I am weird, I actually like hearing music in my car, to go with the "growl" of the engine). Most of us want something we can afford, customize and enjoy, without having to take out a second mortgage and sell a kid, and since mine are grown themselves, I don't have that "option".😂 Specialty models are great, but not affordable for the hard working public. Something you can afford, and take your time personalizing over time, is more affordable and efficient. If I had a couple million in the bank, or a successful You Tube channel(or both), it wouldn't change what I do. Just my opinion, stay safe and blessed!

It may seem a little off but if the Eco boost hybridization with all of the Mustang with all of the non performance bells and whistles? Many people do not track their cars enough to afford the extra insurance and premium fuel on the west coast. Ford needs to work to develop the batteries and wheel motors that can be added as aftermarket to transition to EV Mustang lines. Even a AWD Mustang W/hybrid economy then a sedan version.

So my guess the RTR spec will be the new Performance Pack. But only automatic is a big fail. Even with Anti Lag. One more thing, I would also love to have a 2018 Ecoboost Premium withthe 10 Speed Automatic, with a Steeda Stage 1 package(no, I don't get paid by Steeda to say that, I just like their products, and motto.) as my daily driver, with a CAI from AirRaid. For me, it would be a comfortable daily, that I could "punch it" and not be bored. IMO, Ford should not have abandoned cars, rather, they should have developed upgrades, redesigns, and hire a company that actually knows how to promote products with something other than an "80's" mentality!!!!😢 Missed opportunities IMO, the Lincoln Continental, Taurus SHO, REAL ST models of the Fiesta, Focus, and Fusion/Mondeo(the British Mondeo was fricking gorgeous, and THAT'S the Fusion we deserved here, most never saw, or they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough, with an AWD 6speed Tremec manual ST version with 450 horsepower and 450lbs torque, lighter than the SHO Taurus. It would have given the Kia Stinger a real competitor.....oh wait....Kia pulled "a Ford" and stopped building it, but kept building the Genesis G70, although without a manual, which they had in the 4 Cylinder Turbo version G70, but didn't offer it in the 4 Cylinder Stinger Sport Sedan. Yep, definitely a "Ford Mentality". I wonder if Ford would consider coaxing Mullally back out of retirement, the way "Chrysler" did with Tim Kiniskas?!😮

Ford has come to the realization their V8 RWD N/A sports car with a locked ECU is a complete flop because they priced it in the territory of German high-performance. So now Ford is on their last leg trying to turn the Ecoboost into a stage 2 Focus RS gimmick from factory to save the S650 sales and the Mustang name. As much as I love the Mustang (owned several myself before switching to a F80 BMW M3 and now an 8Y Audi RS3) it's time for Ford to hang up the Mustang jersey. Dodge saw this coming and got out the RWD V8 game completely. Chevy saw this coming so they dropped the Camaro and switched the entire Corvette sales model into a budget friendly, mid-engine, Euro-design sportscar. Both those brands sat back and let Ford have their 5 minutes of fame for being the only American brand to "stand their ground" because they knew it would destroy the American sportscar reputation to even attempt keeping it alive against today's world of turbo small engines that can make 600+ whp with nothing more than a downpipe and a laptop.
@DragonKnightX12Күн бұрын
The price really is the biggest mistake. Working man's sports car now cost the same as the upper middle class man's sports car. The Bronco prices are getting out of control too. Too be fair that's the whole reason they made first move with the Mach-E a "Mustang" model. It helps keep the model alive both in sales and by appeasing regulations since they can count it's eMPG, and lack of emissions in the with the real Mustang. Also that was not at all Dodge's decision, they were planning to build new models on Alfa Romeo's platform with V8s. That call to to axe the muscle cars and the Hemi came from the now Ex-CEO of Stellantis, because he didn't want to listen to anyone about how important Hemis are too Dodge's American audience. Now sales are down because no one wants to buy the hornet or the electric Charger, and even Ram lost sales with the lack of the 5.7 in the 1500. Now their looking to bring the V8s back. The Camaro had already falling of years ago, since GM didn't bother fix the visibility issues with the 6th Gen, and just let it die out. Idk if I would the C8 budget friendly, but at least now it's competitive with Porsche, and no loner just a old man's car.
@Idk910Күн бұрын
@ I’d argue that the C8 has revoked the old man consumer stereotype from the Corvette name. More people in their 20’s are buying Corvettes than ever before since the release of the C8. I have multiple friends my age (mid-20’s) with Z51 package C8’s and always see younger guys with them at car meets. Do old people buy them too? Of course. Especially now that they see the younger generations are interested in them. The Camaro sales were falling continuously, yes, because of practicality. The 2010 5th gen introduction sparked a lot of interest but the 6th gen became known as the bottom tier of American V8 coupes because the Mustang was performing the same with better visibility, the Challenger was spacious, and the Charger came with the ultimate practicality being 4 doors. You couldn’t have said it better regarding the Mustang. It’s no longer a working class man’s car. Period. To get a fully loaded GT you need to be able to comfortably afford a 1k+ monthly car payment. The niche of people doing that is ridiculously low when that same car payment can get them a nice AWD European sports car with better performance and technology that DOESN’T do over the air ECU updates that prevent the vehicle from being tuned. I hope that dodge ends up bringing back the V8 in an AWD form for the new gen Charger. They can retain their TT i-6 powertrain as well as the electric options while offering a V8. Even if the V8 ends up being slower than the TT i-6 people would still pay whatever they have to just to get ahold of a 6.4L N/A AWD in the new Charger body.

@@Idk910 Eh. 1/3 of owners is still 65+ with 45-64 is the next runner up. That's probably more of small outlier, because the vast majority of us isn't that wealthy. Probably not wrong tho has a 29 year I would love a C8, but even well into my HVAC career that's too much for my blood. Lol Oh yeah I loved my 5th Gen SS. First car I bought used. The funny part is the 6th Gen Camaro SS with the 1LE pack was actually competing with the BMW M cars on the track. GM didn't capitalize on that enough. Yea like I said make decent money, but even I don't think I want to finance a $60k+ car. I still got a mortgage and bills to pay. A small saving grace is discounts. There's a big dealer by me that has mostly loaded GTs discounted from 58 to 48. But still I would much rather just buy one lightly used or just get this RTR with that discount. I do like Dodges with the Hemi. I don't I would want to chance that new turbo. It's like Toyota when they went from their V8 to the TTV6 in the Tundra. Just a bunch of issues.
