Exactly. I think he has a serious personality disorder, which explains why he cannot be reasoned with, no matter how reasonable you may be. He's in it to win, not to obey the Bible, and if the Bible can't reach him, no one can. He needs to humble himself and I fear that's the very last thing he intends to do on this earth. He'll get no praise and riches from men for that.

Charismatics can't see Charismatic apostasy ever. They are literally unable to call out an Charismatic leader ever.
@Window4503

@@johnpeters9777Not true. There are charismatics who are part of the discernment camp that are willing to call out the heretics in their midst. These tend to be those closer to cessationism who believe sign gifts are still used but are more rare (which overlaps with what some cessationists believe). Ever is a strong word. They’re susceptible to accepting wolves because of the nature of their theology, but it’s a flat out lie to say they never call anyone out. In fact, part of the reason I was caught up with them for a few years was because they had called out the most obvious heretics. As the tides shift, more are starting to see.

I used to think that Brown was just wrong but still a brother BUT since going through the archives of "Fighting For the Faith" listening to Browns old teachings and watching videos of him at Brownsville it makes so much sense now at why he defends these heretics so much... He's may be good at Jewish evangelism but he's not leading then into true Christianity. It doesn't make me happy to say this but I think it's true and I'd love to be wrong... I pray that Brown and Storms and (others like them) truly repent and hear the beautiful gospel that Christ did it all and that the burden they put on people will be lifted✝️

Watching this reminded me of Paul’s writing in Philippians 3 : 4-7. “….If anyone thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I have more so: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ “. What a contrast from what we saw in the video. This was a real eye opener for me. I truly wonder if Dr. Brown considered his “friendly” response to his critics a Pauline appeal, as in 2 Corinthians. The most glaring difference is that Paul’s concern was protecting the flock from the false apostles preying on them, not excusing himself from his responsibility…to protect the flock from the false apostles preying on them. Truly the height of irony. Also, love the gang being back together. Thanks for all you do!

If he has the platform, the spotlight, the followers, and the media at his disposal, you had better believe he needs to ALSO utilize them to protect the flock from falsehoods...even if it's from his "good friends." And he knows the passages that would command all believers to do so!

Brown is also just blatantly lying and knows it perfectly well. Luthor: "Preachers are the greatest murderers because they admonish the ruler to do his duty and punish the guilty. I, Martin Luther, slew all the peasants in the uprising, for I ordered that they be put to death; all their blood is on my neck. But I refer it all to our Lord God, who commanded me to speak as I did. The devil and the ungodly kill, but they have no right to. Accordingly priests and official persons must be distinguished well, so that we may see that magistrates can condemn by law and can put to death by virtue of their office. Today, by the grace of God, they have learned this well. Now they abuse their power against the gospel, but they won’t get fat from it." Contextually, Luther is referring back to his former statements, when he "[spoke] as he did," made in "Against the Murderous, Thieving Hordes of Peasants" - which, by the by, was published only after the suppression of the peasant revolt had already begun - wherein he advises the German Princes that they have the God-ordained right as magistrates to wield the sword in defense of the nation, the good, and the innocent and to punish evil, such as pillaging and murder. The "command" to which he refers, then, is the general command of God related to the role and duties of civil authorities found in the scriptures, which he exposits in his letters to the princes, rather than any kind of dream vision or audible voice that delivered special, personal revelation to him. He also distinguishes first between the godly civil magistrates, who have the right within the context of political and judicial office to take the lives of the guilty, and the godless, who take that to which they have no right: innocent life. In parallel or "[a]ccordingly," "priests and official persons [magistrates/princes]" must likewise be distinguished. The priest advises the godly ruler on the dictates of God's commands as revealed through scripture and nature, and does not himself have the right to wield the sword, whereas the magistrate or prince, both of whom are "official persons," do. Lastly, even in this somewhat uncertain quotation - we have a note taken by a student, and, trust me, I well know how often they can err in that process - Luther closes by observing that the Magistrates have learned that they "can condemn by law and can put to death by virtue of their office;" however, he likewise condemns them because they have now "abused their power" to such a degree that they have "[gone] against the gospel" by exceeding God's prescription for the just use of governmental authority: "But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer" (Rev. 13.4). Rather than rightly executing the responsibilities of their office as established in Romans, they have ignored their duties as magistrates and rulers through abuse, and will suffer the consequences for doing so, not "[getting] fat [reaping rewards] for [that injustice]." That, of course, comports quite well with his earlier pleas for mercy towards those peasants who were not guilty of capital crimes, or who, through threat of violence, were pressed into service or support of those who fomented the peasant revolt: Therefore, dear lords, here is a place where you can release, rescue, help. Have mercy on these poor people [whom the peasants have compelled to join them]. Stab, smite, slay, whoever can. If you die in doing it, well for you! A more blessed death can never be yours, for you die obeying the divine Word and commandment in Romans XIII, and in loving service of your neighbor, whom you are rescuing from the bonds of hell and of the devil. And so I beg everyone who can to flee from the peasants as from the devil himself; those who do not flee, I pray that God will enlighten and convert. So, as we can see, a great deal of argumentative context is missing, and a clear misinterpretation involved, if we take Luther's claim that he was a "murderer" at face value. Again, Luther was known for being terribly bombastic, particularly in an informal setting, and there is a simple falsehood presented as Luther never claimed personal revelation and direct command from God through it, for instance. Interestingly, most of the sources that have engaged with this quotation excise it from its context and appear to be polemical and biased Papist critiques of the satanic Luther who was inspired by demons and entered into schism with the "one True Church."

Brown is appealing to an ad hom fallacy called "poisoning the well". He's attacking the credibility of Jim & Justin by accusing them of validating/justifying Luther and thus his antisemitism. Even when he debates rabbis, it's always the same, I never really know what he's saying except that he's adamant that he's right and the other person is wrong, and he somehow discredits his opponent. Dr Brown came as a guest speaker. His teenage son, who was an absolute sweetheart, wrote my name in Hebrew inside my Bible. We had one Charismatic professor who came from CFNI. She was an absolute basket case. I would think with his credentials, CFNI would be beneath him. I don't mean that sneakily either. He's an actual academic. CFNI is a joke academically. It's just odd.

He gives a very proper and balanced understanding of Luther's points, and makes clear that Luther was Anti-Judaism, and NOT Anti-Semitic 2.) You are absolutely right: when Dr. Brown is dealing with "Church vs World" issues, he generally does a very good job. But his work in analysis Charismaticism/pentecostalism is completely abysmal.

I have not read any of Luther's work, but from what I've heard people on both sides say, it seems to me that the man must have been anti-Judaism. Now, if one could argue that anti-Judaism of the 16th century is 💯 equivalent to antisemitism today, then I'll concede the point. As it is clearly evident that not all ethnic Jews subscribe to Judaism, it's difficult to pin Luther down as an anti-Semite. I stand to be corrected.

Doc Obs gets the facts wrong. The Kristallnacht was in 1938. Way before death camps and death squads. Hitler surely didn't read much of Luther. Rather Nietzsche. Hitler's parents were Catholic, so that makes it even less likely he knew much about Luther, growing up in an area were most Christians were Catholic. Brown also conveniently forgets Hitler grew up in Austria where Luther was not considered a worthwhile Theologian. While jews were not persecuted in the Austrian empire, in the neighboring Russian empire there were quite a few pogroms and that's one reason so many left . "Doctor" Brown can add misinformation, history twisting and germanophobic and anti-Lutheran hate speech to his list of heresies and blasphemies

Yes Dr. Brown missed his history classes. Hitler was in bed with the Catholics. He loved Nitchke and Wagner. Himmler was raised Catholic too. I never read anyone in Hitlers circles mention Luther. They never even mentioned the Bible. No respectful Christian can deny Luther's sin regarding the Jew. Luther was wrong but he was right on Catholicism. I was a Lutheran for 7 years and never worshiped Luther. I didn't know what Luther wrote about the Jew until many years later.

IMO, Michael Brown is a wolf. His scholarship is eclipsed by his defense of numerous false prophets and teachers. His history with the Brownsville kundalini-fest speaks volumes of his beliefs and/or lack of discernment. He provides cover for almost every wolf out there. If he is truly concerned for the body of Christ, he would, like Paul, Peter, James and Jude, be warning the masses who are being deceived by the false teachers/prophets (wolves) among us. If he knows nothing about these wolves, then he shouldn't be defending them in any way. He appears to be judging them as righteous based upon their statements or relationship with him and not their fruit.

Well-said, brother. As a matter of prudence, I have over the years at least attempted to doubt my doubt of Brown. I am aware of his scholarship, especially on the Trinity, but there's no denying what he is anymore. He is a deceptive wolf who is able to con people, probably largely due to his grandpa-esque demeanor and approach. Seems clear that he knows those like us won't be convinced of his false theology. So I think his focus is on that demographic that is in between that somehow sense these charlatans are wrong, but can't necessarily put in precise theological terms as to why. Such people can be easy prey for him. There is little discernment in professing Christianity
