Hit The Hot - The Fleet of Flying Firefighters

The use of aircraft to fight wildfires dates back to the early part of the 20th century. This video looks at three of the scores of airplanes and helicopters that have served in this capacity around the world. I used to fight fire up in Alaska in the late 60's (when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon) and have had the privilege of being bombed by a B-17 more than once, dropped @ low altitude that stuff can hit hard enough to knock you over.

There's a viddy on here that shows a suv getting hit with the red retardant, and it nearly tumbles the whole truck, shatters all the windows and crinkled in the entire back portion of the roof. Intense!
