Thanks Ali..put this advice and lesson into play today and it massively improved my drives. Fired a 38 on the front nine of my home course and then sadly had to quit because of heavy rain conditions. Much appreciated. Explains a lot about why swinging easy goes farther. If I hit driver we’ll on front 9, I start going for it on the back 9. When I go for it…the fairway hits go away to!!

I hate to say it but yes, it works. On a casual round, I played 3 "provisionals", off pink rather than white castles. A draw rather than a fade or straight. One out of bounds on length. the other two, very close to 40 yards extra. I shall be teeing up higher on a few holes in my next medal

I have had great success doing exactly what you recommend here. However, I play in a lot of wind and now I have an issue where I hit the driver too high when playing into the wind. Can you show us how to get a more penetrating drive into the wind with more roll out? Thanks!!!!

You can add maybe 10-15 yards if you go from hitting a bit down on your driver to doing what he's saying and catching it on the upswing because it takes spin off but you ain't gaining 40 damn yards. I just cringe when I see videos with ridiculous claims like this.

That’s me to a tee , hit my irons longer , try not use driver, use 3/4 iron of tee usually about 220 -240.

Question. I tee the ball up at the right height but I feel way more comfortable with the ball about an inch farther forward in my setup. (About at my pinky toe). Most of my drives are sky, sky high fades that carry 230-250 with no rollout. 8.5 degree driver. Seems like I would get lower ball flight if I moved the ball back a bit, right? How do I get more comfortable with that? I carry my 3 wood 260-270 pretty easily with a beautiful flight so I've been using that off the tee.
